Question… speed rusher or power rusher?

A lot more speed than power but primarily wins with hand technique to soften the corner(cross-chop is his go-to move).

Better than a speed user and power drinker.

Naw Aldon Smith was a beast bro

Unfortunately he was also gone from the league way too quickly.

Love it! Lynch doing a good job of filling up all the positions so we can go BPA with our draft picks

Oh god, not the BPA guys again. This just never seems to end. Lynch and Shanny have never drafted BPA, nor will they this draft season, or ever. NO NFL team drafts that way, save for the Cowgirls. Teams don't spend millions on whole scouting departments and reginal personnel, film study, travel, etc., only to draft BPA. Lynch and Shanny have specific plans for every player they draft. That don't jive well with a BPA approach, which I think is just plain lazy.
Looks like WR, IOL or Nickel Corner at 61? Lots of potentially good players at all 3 of those positions there.
Arden Key light

Ehhh except the whole, more career sacks and higher draft pick than Key but definitely light

Looks like a hidden gem and he's young. If he pans out on the one-year deal will go the way of Arden Key.

For sure- We have done just fine on defense be it scrubs, situational players and studs. Be positive. Kris K to the rescue and maybe his injuries to ankle are finally done and buried. And he is a youngin.

You think this move would preclude them from drafting an ER at 61 or higher (trade up)?

If my Math is correct we right now have 6 DE's on the roster. 7 if you count Armstead as a DE. And I assume we are going to draft atleast 1 edge rusher. So somebody has to go. With the Niners not extending Ebukam I wonder if they plan on using him during the draft to get a pick they were counting on to get with a Jimmy trade.
I'd buy that for a dollarrrrrrrr

i like the signing a lot and now we can go OL with our first pick, unless a great edge wr or cb falls

I don't know about the numbers, but this is a stronger edge group than last year's. The DL group itself could be really good if Kinlaw does something.

I would hate to go Oline with our 1st pick. The chances are we will be reaching and the player we get will have very little impact next season. We just used a 2nd RD pick on the Oline last year and we red shirted him the entire season. I am afraid the past will repeat himself if we do that again. Kyle will sit him for a more experienced player. That 61 pick needs to be for a player that will be an impact player in 2022.

Hyder could be considered proven, in this scheme, and gives the 49ers a solid 'worst case' scenario. It'll be a healthy competition for snaps between Ebukam, Hyder, Omenihu, Turay, and Willis. My guess is the 49ers pass rush will be killing it in the preseason as these guys work 3rd string OTs.

s**t forgot about Hyder…so guess it looks like this…
Samson/AA/Kinlaw/Bosa
Turray/Givens/Hurst/Wills
Hyder/Ridgeway/Omenihu (who I see more in the Key role and effective inside)

I would agree, it seems like we could find a starting slot corner or safety with our first pick. However, we would not be reaching on OL if we drafted a Center, we could probably get a top two or three center with pick number 61 as they are not drafted high anyway. We need a replacement for Mack and he might compete or start at RG until next year
