Where is the seaspuks ranked in the league for tackles?

Still Can't believe In a statistic loving league like NFL they don't record missed tackles.

If you were a defence coach you would want to know the missed tackle count of a player one on one just as a start!

But that is just me, am I missing the point though?

Nope, you are on the point. If defence is not up to speed, go back to basics and build from there. NRL collects those stats don't they?

Pete Carrol is right that the rugby tackle technique is not as dangerous as NFL charges. Good idea to phase in this technique and phase out charging. Old 49ers will all remember what happened to Steve Young

Very cool stuff. I would like to see the NFL return to good solid fundamentals in tackling. Stop trying to decapitate people with your helmet. Man up, lead with your shoulders, and wrap up the ball carrier.

How's this for a bizarre thought. If form tackling emphasising low wrapping tackles around the thighs ever became popular, would that in turn open up the game to the offload?
Ok in nfl if i got this right once your knee touches the ground its
Classed as a tackle?

In rugby league you have to have your fore arm touching the grounding with the tackler on you if say you fall over or the tackler falls off you can get back up n go...

i get the argument on it (false sense of security)never gonna happen.

sometimes for the bean counters the perception of safe is better than actually being safe.

Helmets have been part of the game for too long for them to go. More chance of the bean counters putting big foam pads on the outside of the helmets then ever having them phased out.
