Judt start with a person to take away football operations duties from the team president and give thatnperson absolute say over football ops. Let this person pick their own GM, let those two pick their coach, let those four pick the staff, collaborate on a qb and rebuilding plan.
I would staRt with that football person ASAP.

Don't think you go with a young qb in the draft. Not with these many holes to fill. O-line and d-line corners and lb's in that order. Get a savvy veteran qb. Ryan Fitzpatrick,Drew Stanton or Sam Bradford are the most recognizable of the UFA's next year. You don't need superstar play, you need consistent competent play if you can build the trenches.. Also because no way are you keeping Kap now. Tomsula and crew are gone as well. You could pull any name out of hat and I kinda get the feeling they'll be an improvement. I do like the Hue Jackson call in the other thread though.

basically what happened in 2011, maybe not as quick of a rebound. draft a qb behind alex, add some quick contributors in the draft and free agency, and build around the current talent on the team, trust young players on the roster to take positions as well, add a coach and gm that can change the culture quickly.

You only get so many draft picks lol. You'd rather spend a high pick on a qb that will sit for a year or two rather than fix the line? You build the o-line through the draft not through FA. It rarely works out. Good or Great linemen hardly every hit free agency and what you get are Devey and pears usually. Monroe and Veldheer are the only tackles I can recall in recent times that were any good hitting FA and Monroe is a mild disappointment since he went to the ravens. Or even the the pass rush or the coverage? Q needs to be replaced sooner rather than later as well and his replacement is not on the roster. Same with Staley, I'm not so high on Goff. I'd rather see a trade down for multiple picks

i think we draft our star QB with the 1st overall pick. you dont get many chances to draft a star qb. draft him and get linemen with the later picks and FA. our first rounder has to be a qb from a pro system who is a qb first and a scrambler 2nd, not the other way around

Cutting and dropping and benching players mid season only causes disharmony and disjointed teams. That's an obvious thing. Unless a players REALLY bad here, not only mistakes, but almost throws the game himself, he'll most likely be on team the following week. A good coach will get the best out of the player to improve. Then you have a BETTER player then one who hasn't made a mistake....yet. Becasue he's learnt to fight back from adversity.

Doesn't seem the NFL way though. Also perhaps why the Niners are useless.


Becasue if you noticed in that first paragraph somewhat I made mention of a 'good coach'. Doesn't seem to be one at this team....

Maybe I just saw some bad games, but I didn't see anything in Goff that makes me believe he is a franchise quarterback. Check out his release, very slow with poor mechanics, not real inspiring.

I like his release a lot. I love his footwork as well.

How to stop the train wreck? The answer is easy.....

You're going to have to embrace it and hope that it gets worse...If you want this silliness to stop, it has to be a train wreck, tire fire of historical proportions so that there can be no room for anything but a complete reset...What you don't want is a mini-rally and a couple of wins late in the season to give Jed room to say that Tomsula has turned it around, got the team heading in the right direction and will be back with the NFL Euro coaching staff. You want the offense to stay as the worst in the league by a safe margin, the defense continuing to give up big chunks of yards and Tomsula talking about how he hasn't found the right answer yet but that he will every week.

If you really want the train wreck to stop, it has to be 2-14 or 3-13, it can't be 6-10. If its 6-10, its a .500 2nd half and Tomsula probably gets another year, which will end up being another wasted year just like giving Nolan another year because of a couple of meaningless wins late in the season proved to be a waste of time. For Jed to admit he was wrong, it has to a total and complete disaster. That's the quickest way to get Tomsula out and the legitimate reboot that should have occurred last off-season once the decision was made to part ways with Harbaugh.
