There's a lot to be excited about on defense. Guys like Harold and Purcell should be given a greater opportunity now.

agreed ....might as well give the younger fellas, who will be here next year the majority of the snaps ...guess it's time to focus on next year, no reason to play anyone that wont be here next season

I still expect the coaching staff to remain conservative in the hopes of eeking out a win or two somehow.

That may be the ONLY upside to a mid-season coaching change. The interim guy can go with the young guys since there are no (self-imposed) expectations.

Absolutely, it's only natural for coaches to look out for their own interests first, Jimmy T is no different. These guys won't play more unless Jed tells Jimmy T that he gets a do-over next year or fires him and gives the interim coach explicit instructions to prioritize developing players.

What is everybody's thoughts on Jimmie Ward in the slot? Gonna need for him to start coming up as well.

He hasn't been completely terrible at the slot especially now that he appears to be healthy, but he's a natural FS and should be played there. This wouldn't happen until AFTER next year unless Reid is traded in the offseason or suffers another concussion and retires. Tartt was likely drafted to replace Reid anyways in case of injury and/or the fact they don't plan to resign him long term.

Im sorry none of those fit the bill as an exciting rookie. Toddy Gurley is an exciting rookie to watch.

So a rookie has to be the absolute best at his position in the entire NFL before he's an "exciting rookie to watch"?

Get with it man. Tartt is exciting to watch for his big hits (a forced fumble yesterday). Armstead is getting constant pressure on limited snaps -- also had a forced fumble yesterday. Ward is getting much better in the slot. Lynch is one of the best young OLB's in the NFC.

Use Hodges and Johnson intead of Skov and McCray III.
