This just proves what I've suspected all along. He simply is not paying attention during games.

Well, we sat and wondered if perhaps last week was "just a bad day." And we proceeded to literally do nothing different. Well, not literally. We dropped our safeties back and covered the deep routes - so much so that crossing and seems were wide friggin open. But this offensive line problem is simply not going away. Marcus Martin is not ready, and may never be ready for the center position. I am 100 times more comfortable with him being at guard. Jordan Devey is straight up awful as is Eric Pears. And folks point to Week one, but those two were not good week 1 either. I believe Marcus Martin is the primary reason Joe Staley and Alex Boone have under performed.

On the defensive side, I'm sorry, but Navorro Bowman needs to come out on 3rd downs. 1. it gives him rest, and 2. the dude isn't what he was in coverage.

Mike Davis is a joke. I'm not too high on Jarryd Hayne as a running back, but the guy is better than Mike Davis.

Hayne also needs to be returning kicks. This Grant Cohn BS about Hayne being our 3rd best returner is ridiculous.

Send Vernon Davis up the friggin seem. He only succeeds over the middle.

You traded for Nick Easton - so obviously you know you have a major problem at center. Play him already.

My point is, we're 1-2. Which means this is potentially the most crucial game of the season. This team would be tremendously Nolan-esque and Singletary-ied if it went through the worst back-to-back defeats in franchise history and did nothing. And held no one accountable. And played the role of the friggin cheerleader. Stop worrying about the players' bodies and get it down that losing is unacceptable. And losing like that gets people fired mid-season.

Put Mike Davis on the waiver wire where he belongs. Embarrassing that an Australian whose only played football for 5 months has less fear hitting the hole.

Vernon has been effective on the outside, he can go deep, period... but we are asking him to run short/intermediate routes that require him to get in and out of his breaks real quick. Waste of his talent.

Quinton Patton has gotten his fair chance and someone else needs a crack at #3 WR, whether it's Ellington or DeAndrew White.

Also... don't know why we're not routinely testing S's deep with Torrey and Vernon's speed. Why Vernon continues to run curls and outs is beyond me.

And what happened to this screen game I kept hearing about in the summer?

Asking the same thing.. maybe im wrong but havent seen a screen yet. Bush hopefully is up on Sunday . How bout a screen to VD. or Vinny Mac out the backfield . Even Patton or Ellignton on those fly sweeps....

Then lets take our conversation to the Draft War Room, and pontificate next season. Because forget winning this season, we're not even competing this season with the same old "stay the course" strategy. The "course" itself is flawed
Just for fun, let's see if PFF agrees with those who seem to think Devey, Martin and Pears are not our best players!

If it's another debacle - it will get so ugly - the fans will start wearing paper-bag masks.

Bench TJE and activate Purcell!

There needs to be more changes to hopefully make an impact on game day, you are right , TJE needs to sit and Purcell deserves a shot

plus Acker needs to sit, and Dontae Johnson needs to play , Acker gives up too many big plays

Devey and Pears also need to sit ...we need to find a combination that will get results on the field, we need to let the other lineman have a shot at helping improve the offensive line play LT: Staley LG: Thomas C:Martin RG: Tiller RT :Boone
Ive been saying since preseason we should trade for a seasoned OL... Our 3rd round will get us someone good

I agree that something needs to change but in JT's defense, the starting o-line didn't even play together until week one. Denver's o-line isn't doing well either for many of the same reasons.

Generally, coaches aren't going to yank a guy after three games even if it's warranted (except for Bill Belichick. Zero f**ks would be given by Bill). You have to understand the coach's position, even if their actively working to replace some of the guys on the o-line, he can't just say "yea that guy sucks, can't wait until I can bench his ass" to the media.

It's the same reason why teams always deny trade rumors. Then when actually end up trading the player, they give some boilerplate response about "wanting to see him succeed."

I think it's less about the player being terrible and more about not wanting to send the wrong message, if that makes sense at all.

This might be the best way to get the line to gel faster. Have a vet on each side to coach them up. I understand putting all the experience to the left to protect Kaep's blindside but the right side is giving up way too much. Teams are exploiting that side.

Inexperience game coaching at its finest.

Key words.. Experience/inexperience. (then just talent). Coaching is in roles here where they have no experience. Half the starters are replacements. The "new guys" who look good/ Hyde... but a power runner ain't able to do much if we're down 20 pt (or worse). Hayne? Minimal experience but nifty talent. Unlikely he can fill up the box score at this stage. Kaep? I'm losing confidence.. but I don't like the options much.

On D......it only takes a few weak links to be a problem. The Niners need a couple of GOOD drafts to have the talent.. and then can really say if the coaching sucks.
