Do you Agree with Vernon Davis? . . . . .

It was a definite factor, but the lame duck coaching situation, the burn out from three near misses and injuries made for a perfect storm.

I'd like to know how many times he F's up in a game. Always see him lining up in the wrong spot. He's in the same spot as other WR's during routes. Missing blocks. I'd love to see an entire coaches film of Davis plays. I don't think he's a smart player at all.

I mean he's still out there making rookie mistakes. He's going into his 10th year. Come on man.

I could see if it was a pass play and Kap scrambled but it's clearly a read option running play LOL it's just horrible

Last year made me lose a lot of resprct for Davis. He was injured, but he had too many plays like the above. I dont wanna hear crap from him about scheme or whatever. He held out and packed it in last year and is probably only motivated because its a contract year. Hr'll prob be gone after this year so hopefully some of the other TEs step up.
I think Roman's play-calling was way too predictable...and Harbaugh didn't insist on any changes to open up the offense. So, I think Vernon's right, to a degree. He also had a bad year, part of that was not getting him into position to make plays. I think things will change quite a bit under Chryst...to take advantage of added speed, to better utilize the players he has. We'll see screens, both WR and RB. Kap will have more opportunities to throw the rock downfield. I think we'll see a much more wide-open offense, while still employing a stout ground game. I'm pretty excited at the potential for our offense to be a lot of fun to watch this season.
I can see Vernon pulling a Kaitlyn jenner. Hell, cam chancellor already ripped his balls from his sack.

VDs gonna have a bounce back year, and even after that I have the feeling 9ers will still not resign him
I'm not sure vd really wants to play anymore by that I mean sacrifice his body and go all out.

The other one definitely a bigger loss. Run game last year without him was horrible.

That clip is but a microcosm of Vernon's 2014 season, and exactly what I was referring to when I alluded him not really playing at full speed, not going all out. I really do believe that Vernon played to save his health or something.

I don't know - to fully understand the play, I'd like to know what he was being asked to do. There's another popular gif out there with Staley whiffing on blocks and after the game he makes the infamous "dumb scheme" comment... just trying to look at it from the other side which is absolutely suspect.

doesn't take a genius to see he's not giving a s**t out there. i can get the film breakdown thread that has that play if necessary
