agree. i stopped blaming the injury in about game three when he was loafing. but i will give him a second chance. hope he has a good year for us which will force the team to make a decision. i just am so unsure about the back ups so i really disagree who just want him gone today. i think carrier will do well, i have a good feeling about bell, no clue about vance. i am not reassuring myself about the guys behind vernon.

But he didn't injure his back until game 4 (vsPHI) and that was most likely the more debilitating injury (ankle in week 2). The back injury caused him to miss the next game as well (vsKCA).
I'm starting to get the impression that Harbaugh's practice sessions were closed to the public and media, because they must have been pretty sloppy. I don't know how many times I heard Harbaugh tell the press before a game, what a great week of practice they had, just to look so unprepared on game day.

Man, I hate it when people kick the former coach/leader/manager/whatever after they've left. If you feel that way, fine. But keep it in house. It's always easy to kick somebody when they're not around to defend themselves.

So unprepared they won 70% of his games.

I don't know. The team looked pretty good for the vast majority of the past four years. And, let's keep it in perspective -- our DOWN year was an 8-8 season.

All good points... That said, I think we will surprise a lot of people.
Beat writers are saying Vernon looks really good in practice. He's running fast again, showing that ability to stretch the defense. Hopefully he's fully recovered from the back injury that plagued him and he's motivated to have a big year.

With that talent, they should have won more, and some that were close, or even lost, should have been blowouts - bears and raiders loss, giants win, etc. Those 3 games, the opponents shouldn't even have been in the game, never mind giving two of those away.

ok, you know me,, sorry,,, whenever the injury happened, i let it be the excuse for about three or four games than i stopped,,, actually by the time late season arrived, i think there were more than a few guys maybe not playing as hard as we are used to them playing. again lets just write off last year as a bad dream , i trust and pray everyone who did not play well last year will be back. people like vernon and brooks, boone and smith certainly seem like they are in good shape so we are already ahead of last year

alot of our 8-8 wins were piss poor looking like the giants game. over the years sooooo many wins were harder than they needed to be and it was upsetting to have to win games in spite of our OC at the time. and being dead last in second half scoring did not help. thank god for the changes and one locker room. the team looked like s**t alot of the times and the coach was numb after the games with a deer in the headlight look as if he did not have one f**king clue what to do, it showed cuz the next game was the same s**t

I think it's pretty clear what happened. Harbaugh was a great coach who came out firing. He had a lot of clever ideas and got the guys to buy into his brand of tough, physical football. We had the talent to overwhelm teams with our physicality.

After a few years, when injuries started to mount and we fell short time and time again, the player's lost that tenacity. I did not see the same physical team on both sides of the ball. You can only go so far on physical talent alone. You need superior schemes as well.

The player's didn't give up on Harbaugh, they loved the guy, but they stopped believing that nobody had it better than us. We were thoroughly out-coached in 2014, especially by Seattle, our biggest rival.

last years slop and lack of having a clue has nothing to do with the previous three years,, all that tells me is that his type of coaching hit the wall in the nfl,, how else, infamous built in injury excuse not withstanding,, can you explain no half time adjustments and dead last in the nfl in second half points. no wonder he ran back to college . now of course before you make fun of my post remember,, its all about the team,THE TEAM. thank god for the wholesale changes and one locker room for this year

too make a long story short...

from Top to Bottom, I really hold everyone accountable to the poor or 8 & 8 season that we had..

Baalke let go of players who were hitting their prime..

Harbaugh giving up on the team after not getting whatever he wanted..

Players lost their hunger, and did not have the same focus as they once did in 2012..
