nah nah nah..
I meant to say, those are the guys that I would be keeping... not everyone will be dressin up as others will find their way in IR.. then next year, Boldin is gone, and we can then fit in the rest of the young WRs in the team..

This is as exciting as Joe Tuesday crushing home runs in spring training during batting practice off of a 60 year old pitching coach who's throwing 85 mph fastballs right down the middle.
If DeAndrew White makes the team I'll shoot 1 crow in my back yard and eat it.
If DeAndrew White actually plays in a regular season game I'll shoot 2 crows in my back yard and eat them.
If DeAndrew White catches a TD in a regular season game I'll shoot 3 crows in my back yard and eat them.
If DeAndrew White leads the team in any stat in the regular season I'll shoot 4 crows in my back yard and eat them.
The ball is in your court DeAndrew White.

With Boldin gone and Smelter healthy, that's still 8 WR on the 53. Try again.

More talent is always a good thing...even if White doesn't make the team, the real benefit is he'll push the other guys to step up their game. Competition is the name of the game.

I love how people like to write a player off just because of age. If Boldin produces another 1000+ yard season along with touchdowns, he will only be gone if cap wise he wants to much money. All this talk about players who have yet proven themselves it is like Kory and Nate talk. The goat put up only 50+ catches in his first season and he had JM as a seasoned QB to catch from. Crabtree came out with more fan fare but never lived up to potential. Not saying they can't succeed and become like Marques Colston, but lets see the pre-season games first. Cause, unless injuries happen we won't have but six wr on the 53 man roster at the most..
Why must simpson go? He is a known talent who had so-so qbs throwing to him. The vice on him is a vice that took him out of the game for one year. That has taught him a valuable lesson not to be stupid (you hope anyway) and has made him hungry.
Boldin, Torey, Simpson, Ellington, Patton
Smelter on non football injury list.
Room for possibly one more. Maybe it is White-we'll see.
Plus if they are that good, as I said, some wr hungry team will snap them up b-4 they can make the practice squad. Just like one of our CB got picked up and started for another team.
Ellington is more valuable than Patton, one more year on contract and has done return duties.

I can't see him joining the 53...yet. We only kept 6 WR's last year and that was with the idea of playing more spread offense to start the season. When looking at the total 53, I just can't find a spot for him...yet.
X: Torrey Smith; Quinton Patton, Jerome Simpson, Dres Anderson & DiAndre Campbell
Y (SLOT): Bruce Ellington; Darius Davis, Chuck Jacobs & DeAndrew White
Z: Anquan Boldin; Rory 'Busta' Anderson & Issac Blakeney (DeAndre Smelter)

So cut Torrey Smith and all of his guaranteed money? Nope. Only one WR on that list has ever caught a pass in the NFL, and he's never started a game.

Beyond Patton and Smelter who has guaranteed money, the odds that any of those guys are on the roster next season are slim to none. Never did understand why people fall in love with undrafted players. They went undrafted for a reason. For every guy that makes it there are like 50 more who dont.
4 or 5 undrafted players making a roster at the same position is not only unprecedented, but also ridiculously unlikely.

Most likely he doesnt make the roster, regardless of how good he looks in shorts. Every year people fall in love with players from hearing about them in OTA's and training camp, every year most of these guys end up amounting to nothing in the preseason.
Its fine to be excited about players but trying to allocate roster spots to guys that most likely wont make the team, all on the basis of practice reports(we talking about practice man), is really grasping at straws.
For the past few weeks Ive gotten to hear a lot about the Cards minicamp future HOFers and just like every year, 9 out of every 10 dont make the roster. When you have to go from 90 guys to 53 and you start with 30+ slots already locked up, a whole lot of people are going to go by the wayside, if they cant hack it in August, it wont matter how good they looked in May and June.
Out of all these UDFA's, I could see one at best making the roster and then holding on to one or two on the PS.

Kory Sheets could run circles around those guys (mostly because Nate Davis can't count all the way to circle).
