49er Petition: "Keep Gold in the jersey" an edit to the Alternate Uni's

Having a black circle around the logo doesnt make it a team color. The Chiefs arrowhead logo is outlined in black. Is that one of their colors too?

These jerseys were designed because the players' thought they looked "cool". So a bunch of 25 year old guys with little to no ties to the 49ers tradition before signing here thought these up.

Notice that Baalke and Tomsula avoided saying they liked them. When asked what they thought, they just talked about about how the players like them, and joked that the big guys will look thinner.

white is a neutral color too. your point is invalid there. black was once along the pant stripe of the niner uniform for many years. but then we went back to the white reminiscent of our glory uni's. it essentially replaced the white stripes you see on the pants today. again, not saying it was considered one of the "49er colors" but it was a color that was more emphasized with their ugly ass burgundy uniform scheme

I understand that they used to have black stripes on their old pants and helmet, but that doesnt mean its an excuse to call it a team color. Even back then, nobody wouldve said our colors were red, gold, and black.

We got the old black accents from the drop shadows. In the mid-late 90's drop shadow numbers got popular. The stripe was just an accent that matched the numbers.

The new black just stems from the QB non-contact jersey, which was only black because normally non-contact jerseys are red, but we already wear red.

The point is, if black isnt your primary or your secondary color, you shouldnt be allowed to use it as a jersey. It just looks bad and generic. Even the Cards and Eagles are pushing it, but at least they dont really have major secondary colors.

looking back it looks like we had a red non-contact jersey..up until JH second year..then it went to black

I like this change but the NFL has rules that restrict what and when a team can make changes to unis.

then I guess white was never considered to be part of the 49er colors no? it's one of my favorite complimentary's to the red. despite it being an "accent" color. same with the black. but different era's. I think your argument is more suited for the thread entirely based on the discussion of the uniforms themselves as opposed to this petition thread. unless I'm wrong and you dig how the alternate's look already? but anyways, I consider the black as a tertiary color AT LEAST but for the 90's era throughout until we went back to the cherry red and white. IMO.

I absolutely love how much of a difference the addition of more gold looks. will never get changed, but couldn't hurt to try.

Do you know how bad the 49ers as an organization would look if they recalled the alt jerseys

And the funny thing is that the majority of people would still hate the new alt jerseys with the gold outline.

From what I understand people don't want alt jerseys PERIOD.

The "Keep gold in the jersey" petition makes no sense, considering the jersey youre complaining about has more gold on it already (swoosh logo) than our regular home AND road jerseys combined...

I think we should actually go back to the gold pants with the red jerseys. They matched the helmets and popped in HD. Instead they went back to the offsetting beige-ish color when they switched back to the red jerseys.

I wouldnt mind going back to the metallic gold pants, but even just the plain tan pants we used prior to 1996 would be an upgrade. I hate the way our current pants look yellow in certain lighting. The current pants arent the same as the old school ones. The ones we use now are like metallic gold in a matte finish, and it gets weird in different lighting.
