Gotcha. CB would probably the only unknown but Mangini is big on personnel match-ups. So one game it might be Brock and Johnson. Another maybe Johnson and Acker (press). Brock and Reaser? Who knows. Most feel Wright has been beaten out though so that's good!

My prediction for this year is that he'll be the starter by mid-season. This kid has every bit the upside of Armstead, but on offense. He is just an absolute wall. Once he learns how to best speed rushers, I think he'll be unstoppable.
A.Davis who?
I predicted the same by around game 12. Accepting he is green, he looks like he will be terrific.

So, Barrows last 53 man roster looks pretty damn good to me. Overall, our starters match favorably with just about every roster in the league. I can understand depth being an issue this year more so than in the past. But the starters look great.

I like the depth at most postitions, and am very happy to see some young guys make the roster. McCray has worked his rearend off on STs and deserved a spot as he can fill that need Dahl filled. Purcell is a feel good story as well. Skov is an interesting LB in that he beat out more seasoned guys and Moody, who had been a favorite of many. Skov is very instinctive and is similar to Borland in diagnosing run plays...not as good in coverage though. As many have said...they will bring in a S on passing downs.

. a refreshed vernon. sure the o line is a concern but I really really very respectfully disagree with your analysis of our offense
To paraphrase a poster friend...cc has said nothing wrong!
thank you dtg, you are a good citizen and a credit to the webzone
i do not know how to do the little blue man thumbs up thing
Everyone needs to chill on the o line. Vance McDonald is our true right tackle, at least for a while. We will be fine the first couple weeks while it settles itself out.

He is out of position at ILB. Skov at least knows where he is supposed to be, which is the same reason Borland was so good at that position. Remember Zach Thomas was no world class athlete he just never played out of position. I could see Skov being like that. Moody never looked comfortable with that part of that position.

Agree!! I aslo think he'll take over as the starting RT at some point this season.

Skov was a ILB all his life. Moody played Safety in College i am sure thats why he never looked comfortable at ILB since he got here. What ever the case is he is gone N i know damn well i wont miss him at all. I would rather give Larry Grant another shot N you know where that dude is at right now.

I fear this is roster looks good to us homers - myself included thinking positively - but it really is a mediocre roster at best where player short comings are mercilessly exposed by other teams this season. Two key areas of grave concern:
1. RG - (really center-rg-rt) There wasn't a single OL combination that was able to stop 1st string disruption through the RG gaps. Martin is over-hyped at both C and RG. And the rest gave up major pressure. If the RG isn't stout, the RT is screwed because up field rush to inside pressure becomes a wide open lane as well. This will not just impact CK, but disrupt the running game as well. I pray Devey shores this up enough to at least be passable.
2. OLB - maybe, maybe DL pressure can compensate a bit, but that works ok only against less mobile QBs. Mobile QBs simply spill out around the weak OLBs.
If those don't get fixed asap - its a long, painful year of football for us.

Agree with RG but Lynch and Brooks is really not a bad combo at OLB.
