And before you call me a hater, I have been going to games since 1978.

If you honestly believe we'll have the worst record this upcoming season, you know nothing about football. I don't care how long you've been going to the games. This team is still more talented than at least 3/4 of the league.

The trend is that Trent Baalke is probably the worst GM in the NFL (when it comes to talent evaluation).

Yea because Bowman, Aldon, Iupati, Anthony Davis, Reid, Borland, Lynch, Kap, Hyde, etc. are all bad. Sure he's missed some, but he's hit on a lot, too.

We don't have the extra roster spot. After this, Lee might demand a trade and we could be stuck with crap. If we needed a punter I would be fine with this but it's been a position of strength for like 10 years. The field position game has always been set by Lee.

lol. C'mon now.
Step back and let's start making judgements in September.

However, the Steelers once again drafted my favorite WR (I had Brown in the 4th way back when, Bryant in the 2nd last year, and Coates in the 2nd this year), and so far they've proven to be much better at scouting that position than the 9ers.
Seems stupid to not draft Martavis Bryant last year in rd 4 (He went after Ellington in 4th)

Coates would be nice, but Smelter should be very good as well.

Baalke is smart, but I think his ego got the better this year and he reached for several picks. But he really loves them, so if they turn out great all will be OK.

I see a trend in people using the word,"Raw."

I said that about Armstead to my fiancee Thursday night and she laughed and said she never heard that before. I got mad.

Yea I LOL'd at that.
Wasn't Aldon supposed to be "raw"? I think a number of these guys can help situationally this season.

In this draft, no they did not. Last draft, they didn't either. Who's the "game breaking RB"? Hyde? Okay, I think the jury's still out on that. He broke no games last year though. Who's the "legit deep threat WR"? Baalke is still trying to find one of those. So far...no luck. OL? LMAO....last year's line had Kap running for dear life.

Hyde showed serious flashes last year IMO. Got a lot of short yardage touches. There's potential there. Big time.

Torrey Smith is one of the best deep threats in the game.

I hated the Armstead pick a lot. Still do. But overall Baalke has been strong at evaluating talent.

I see a trend on this message board as well:
about three frequent posters will certainly lose their credibility when it comes to GM evaluation. One of them are you.

But we aren't going to get a great feel for this guy after a few preseason games. We won't know anything until the bullets fly, and we can't go into the season with 2 guys on the roster dueling it out. Any other position and it's a full season battle...but to dump Lee for this guy

We dumped a pro bowl long snapper for an unknown rookie. If he turns out to be that good, you can always trade Lee, but let us wait and see.

Doesn't mean you know how to be a gm, not kissing up to Baalke, but will wait before I judge. Baalke has said that he doesn't wait to draft for need at that position of that year, like our third rounder, he is insurance in case we can't sign Aldon or one of the OLB gets injured, or having a bad year. Same thing with our WR selection.
first pick yeah right we are loaded with talent. First pick come on man
