Kap in a nutshell and on point. Coach Meyer Ohio St.

Your stance is very much well known, thank you again.
and so is yours, still ignoring the TRUTH when it smacks you in the face, you still deny it.

No offense, but you're guessing just as much as anyone.

None taken. It's a guess, but you can base it off history of players who suffered similar injuries. None of the injuries sustained require 8-12 month recovery times. Based off that you would think there's a good chance he could be ready by August. I'd be surprised if he wasn't.

From a report early last month.

Colin Kaepernick (shoulder, thumb, knee) remains "at least" another month away from being "football-ready."

Kap underwent surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, throwing thumb, and knee after losing his job to Blaine Gabbert last season. Money is reportedly what's holding up a potential trade to the Broncos, but health may also be of concern to Denver and a reason why they could be asking him to take a pay cut. Kaepernick is iffy for OTAs, but should be 100 percent for camp.

Wouldn't be surprised if they play it up in camp so Gabbert can get a shot to start. Shaun Hill all over again, with Alex waiting in the wings.

Kap hasn't been cut or traded, and the 49ers didn't draft anyone that is a serious threat for playing time this season.

So I guess Blind and I are winning, sorry man. And now I'm going to go back to ignoring you, though I know you enjoy the attention. Peace brotha.
How can anybody compare Kap to Alex Smith is beyond stupid.

Why wouldn't Kaep be ready to start week 1? His surgeries weren't major and from what ive read he should be cleared by the time training camp starts.

Yup, from what I understand he'll be 100% for camp.

Whoever starts on this team at this position, will have earned it. Compete and leave no doubt.

If the line is fixed, I have no doubt Kaep will play well. He has already proven that he can play well with a competent OL. He's really the only QB on this roster that you can say that about.

Not sure if Gabbert will play poorly enough to where Chip will switch to Kaep, to be honest... So the only way I see Kaep starting if he's still on this team is if Blaine gets injured because I don't think Kaep will be ready day 1. I also don't see Chip being the type to switch QB's. When Bradford was complete trash, he still stuck with him.

So it's Blaine's job to lose.

Disagree. We're acting like Gabbert was so solid last season. His play against Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit was pretty poor.

Gabbert may not have been solid but he was better than Kap. Under Gabbert our offense had more total yards and points per game. Our offense had under 200 yards of total offense 4 times under Kap. Under Gabbert we had no less than 221 yards. For instance, under Kap, our offense had 13 total points in 3 games against Seattle dating back to 2014. With Gabbert at Seattle no less, we scored 13 in one game alone. Blaine also had a higher completion percentage and touchdown to interception rate, and a higher QB rating. So yeah, our offense still sucked with Blaine, but it was more effective. The stats speak for itself.

Just to be clear.....
You think all those players left the team because Kap got paid?

No, not all of them, but I'm sure it played a role in some of them. Especially with the whole separation of the locker room thing that happened. It's just ridiculous this argument about Kap leaving "millions" on the table when he's the highest paid player on this team is still floating around. Like it's not even close as to how much more than everyone else Kap is making. Kap is making double the amount of the next highest paid player on the team, in base salary alone, without any escalators...

This has to be the worst leap in the history of the WZ. Wtf.

...in which we pretend QB's aren't paid more than 80% of the players in the NFL.

Exactly! Nevermind the fact that it has been written ad nauseum that Kaep took LESS money to help resign players that untimely were never resigned.

You mean Kap took an, "If you're as good as everyone says you are, this is going to be a record setting" contract.

This is pretty much how it went down in March of 2014:

"Hey team. We have a great team here, pulled out a lot of team wins. Which is why I called us all together for this meeting. Quite simply, some of you won't be here next year if you don't take pay cuts, because even though we're right up against the cap, we're going to give Kap a contract which will make him the best paid QB in the NFL -- if you all play up to championship level, like the past few years, of course -- just like before Kap took over... and I know he only throws to Quan, and I know some of you don't even like him, but it's OK. Take one for the TEAM. There's no "i" in Kap. WHO'S GOT IT BETTER.......... BLUDGEON!"

*crickets*

Think about it... We had 5 mil in cap space that offseason, and went on to extend a QB to eat up three times that amount? How were we going to re-sign all those players? I mean, realistically.

Gabbers also played with a better o-line for his starts, but I agree that even with that in mind he looked better.
