As it stands the 49ers have all the leverage and don't have to do anything. Plus, there isn't another QB on the 49ers roster with his talent nor resume. Even with the bad season Kaep remains our best option for Chips offense. The best thing the 49ers should do is make Kaep play out his contract, draft a QB with our first pick, and let him sit behind Kaep for a season (or Kaep and Gabbert). This is the best play for the team because it allows the team to groom a top talent without having to force a rookie into action.

But by no means should we trade Kaep, no matter how disgruntled. IMHO

Yes, Harbaugh did everything but promise the moon to convince Alex to play for him and he stayed, then got replaced after injury while leading the best team he had played with towards a play off run. And he still didn't act like an a&&hat. I was all in with getting him to a decent situation. Not so with Kaepernick and his situation. Want out? Don't let the door hit you in the a&&. Sad too, because I was excited for him in 2012.

People even here in this forum wanted Jackson because he was great with QBs, and Browns are clearly drafting a QB, so I don't know what the dying of laughter comment means. Either take your chance in the draft where theres no guaranteed good QB or go with someone that had some success in the NFL

Kap plus #7 pick for the #2 pick. This gives the Browns an experienced starting QB, plus an impact player at #7. It gives the 49ers thier pick of the rookie QB's for Kelly to build around.

If Jackson and the Browns think they can salvage Kap, they might be interested. Though they'd probably want an additional pick.

That would be freaking awesome.

Ok. Back to reality . According to the draft trade chart the 2nd pick is worth 2600pts the 7th is worth 1500. That 1100 pt difference is the equivalent of the 14th overall pick. Sorry but we would have to trade a high draft pick to make up the difference in addition to Kap. I'll pass. Just trading him straight up for a pick is more likely.

I don't think anyone thinks Gabbert is better than Kap considering the success Kap has had. But I do think Gabbert can improve much more than Kap can considering the pile of s**t coaching Gabbert has had since his rookie year. To go through what Gabbert has gone through, a lot of QB's end up being out of the league or career backups. Gabbert came out like a professional and displayed some things that raised some eyebrows.

I'm not sure how you don't see that. You can't just keep evaluating him based on his JAX days. I know one or two examples don't mean a thing because those players were probably exceptional to begin with but guys like Rich Gannon and quite a few others have shown that they can lead a team to success.

I really don't know how you can deny the talent Gabbert has displayed. All we are basing Kap off of is his talent because his mechanics and fundamentals are s**t.
