Yup. All those retirements at the same time were just a conincidence.

Honestly have to say I never liked him. Thought he was overrated from the get go. The defense carried him the first year, he had the one good game against the Pats, and two good games against the Pack but got his ass kicked constantly by the Seahawks and was never much better than .500 against the other teams in the division. The idea that he was somehow better before the league's defenses "exposed his flaws" has always seemed like a peculiar argument to me. If his flaws were exposed then it stands to reason that they existed in his game all along and when measured by that metric I'm not sure how it can be argued that he was ever any good at all. He had some good games obviously but in the end he lost most of the games that really mattered. If it's true that he wants to be traded than all I can say is good riddance.

So once again good games = carried. Bad games = he lost, got his ass kicked. Got ya.

How many good games have 9er QB's played in the last 10 years?

Yea, one good game..lol

But amazingly and for no reason at all none of the players has breathed a word about it since. But hey, ain't nothing that happens in this world that posters can't blame on Baalke or York. No proof, no evidence, but that doesn't stop NT.

They're blaming everything on Kaep so don't worry about it.

Boy you love you some Kap don't you? Like I said before I'm indifferent about him. I would have loved to see him with chip this year but he clearly doesn't want to be here so time to move on. I hope we can all agree we are 49er fans not just Kap fans.

Best things for both parties is a fair trade. I'll wish him the best on where ever he goes and look forward to our future QB.

*(Cue the slideshow of Kap moments good an bad)

I'm a reasonable guy. You ban a QB from the sidelines, misdiagnose his injury, leak stories about him, and then question why he wants to leave? C'mon be real.

But I agree. 9er fans never liked Kaep and I wish more of the people here just admitted that before trying to act like they are being objective. We will draft what 9er fans think is a real QB and hopefully he pans out. Cuz if he doesn't... Back to square one crying.
Hearing the rumors about his leadership and locker room presence I'm done with him. Just get anything out of him at this point.

I liked him got the jersey and everything

I agree the FO and fans were harsh at times, but let's not make it sound like Kap was just the victim too ...he had off field stuff with smith's ex,whither or not it's a big deal teammates don't like seeing s**t like that. He never was a leader and from reports wasn't a lock room guy...he hung out with lower level players. I mean have you heard any of his teammates really backup up Kap through all of this stuff? I haven't.

Like you said earlier if their winning none of that matters, but they weren't. Has the team as a whole regressed sure not gonna argue that, but Kap hasn't progressed either like other comparable Qbs in Wilson, Cam, or even bortles. You'd think the way his contract was setup it would set a fire under his ass to not just lift weights but learn the mental aspect more, which he stated in the past he doesn't really care about fundamentals.

I don't think SF gave him all th right tools to be successful but you can't just blame SF and the fans for where Kap is currently he played a good part in that as well.

I think his best chance to reclaim what he could have been is with chip but if he wants a fresh start I'm not gonna hate on him.

So like I said cue the slideshow play some Sarah McLachlan will you remember me and we can talk about what could have been because it's like the ship has sailed

WEAKNESSES
Plays out of the pistol, lacks experience under center. Has not been asked to make NFL progressions and reads. Not quick to check down or hit hot read against the blitz. Misses too many short passes. Doesn't have consistent touch on the deep ball. Release is somewhat elongated and can dip down to sidearm at times.

seems his ability to read a defense has been questioned from the start.

This is the BEST news I have heard in months. Finally, I mean finally we can move on.

But, what an amazing development of events. Didn't Baalke and Kelly just say they would take Kap back?! Man, this has to be embarrassing as fxxk for the 9ers. LOL.

I wonder what Baalke has to say to the press now?! The dude will get killed tomorrow!! LOL. Let's face it, the entire 49ers organization is a train wreck.

What I don't understand is how could Baalke say Kap will "absolutely" be on the 9ers' roster without speaking to Kap and his agents?! This is just pure stupidity and lame.

Ok. SO congrats on having a good day, but if you didn't see this coming than you really aren't paying much attention. There has been so much damage done to Kaps ego due to bad play, media, fans and most likely his own pressure (you are your own worse critic). I don't really think its embarrassing for the Niners at all. To be honest I am slightly relieved. I like Kap but am so tired of the will he or wont he be here.

I do agree with the fact that the Niner "Front Office / Owner " is a train wreck but not that Baalke is going to have a tough time. Look he made comments based off of him + the owner + and Chips idea of what they want. He simply stated the Kap is under contract and that contract stipulates that he will be with the team. He said that about alot of players. He didnt guarantee he will be under center for us week one. Didn't guarantee he would be here week one. He said he fully expects him to be on the Niners past the deadline for his money, but then also stated he guarantee tomorrow. If that's not a smoke screen IDK what is.

On your final note....I am sure they have spoken. But to me the Niners don't need Kap...but Kap needs that paycheck.

So hey if he wants to walk then let him look for something. If its worth it Baalke pull the trigger. Kap will be walking away from a coach who is used to his style of play. Something he hasn't had since college.

Has not been asked to make NFL progressions and reads is much different than can't read defenses. Keep trying to push a square peg into a round hole. Kaep is gone, time to tear down someone else.

Its been a question from the start yes. Its also not improved in my eyes. Still looks rattled when there's alot of upfront movement as well.

Bortles has had one good year and he has 2 elite wide receivers and a functioning offense. He is better, but you can't simply rate players in a vacuum, it doesn't work that way.

The Kaep ship has sailed....even if you may think he sucks, the organization completely destroyed any value he had. Terrible asset management.
Just move on, I'm comfortable going with Blaine running chip's system. If Baalke adds defense during fa I'm hoping and going Goff at 7

They couldn't have spoken since apparently according to the collective bargaining agreement teams cannot talk to their players until April 4. But, I am guessing they can at least talk to the players' agents. Baalke might have only stated basically Kap is under contract, but had he known (if is true) Kap's agent was going to call him after that press conference whereby they want a trade, I very much doubt Baalke would have said the same thing. It is embarrassing for the 9ers whichever way you slice it whether you like it or not. It means the FO has absolutely no communication lines with its players, it has zero idea whether a player wants to go or stay. I would be interested to see what the heck Baalke is going to say when he gets grilled by the press today?
