It's unfortunate that Kap wants to leave the team he said was his childhood team, versus prove to us he was going to fight to keep the job and get better. Maybe he wore out his welcome, overdid his image, and screwed up the guy code in the locker room. He still had potential and could of set things straight, but if this really is it, then you don't want to force someone to stay around if he doesn't want to be here. If he really wants to go to NY to be near his GF,or market his brand better, than maybe that 'what if' trade for Wilkinson could be a option.

This is obviously what should happen...

Just effing give it up already. If you aren't familiar with the bevy of Kap critics from ex players, to recognized experts, to NFL talking heads then you been living under a rock.

It's a hell of a lot easier to find negative abot Kap from all the types of sources I mentioned than it is ro find positives. Dont believe me just try....

Pretty sure 2012-2013 speaks for itself.

VOLUMES, as we watched Kap regress every year.

The 49ers "absolutely" want Colin Kaepernick to be in their plans in 2016. Kaepernick still wants to be traded.

The funny thing is, the quarterback coming off his worst NFL season needs the Niners a lot more than they need him.

For starters, Kaepernick's heart may not be in San Francisco, but that's where his best chance for big money is. If he stays and does his job well enough, he can make $16 million.

It's hard to trade an underperforming quarterback who's at Kaepernick's salary level, because the acquiring team has to both pay him and give up draft picks. Why would anyone want to bite?

The Jets, his reported team of choice, can see they can keep Ryan Fitzpatrick, who's coming off his best NFL season, for a lot less. They already know he's a great fit for Chan Gailey's offense.

If another team wants to take a shot at a QB who's damaged but promising athletic goods, it wouldn't need to give up anything to take a flyer on a hungrier Robert Griffin III.

Kaepernick needs to shake off his grudge with the 49ers organization. He should see that he needs to give Chip Kelly a real shot. Kelly can make the best use of his best assets: his strong arm and running ability. It will be a lot harder for Kaepernick to start from scratch somewhere else and try to redevelop into the special QB he once was. Kaepernick is silly to think the Niners didn't hire Kelly with him in mind most.

That's a commitment to him, and it would behoove him to show the same commitment to them.

The 49ers have the seventh pick in the draft, with a shot at Carson Wentz, Jared Goff or Paxton Lynch. Heck, they even aren't ruling out the possibility that Blaine Gabbert could remain a starting option if Kaepernick proves not to be up the task of starting for Kelly.

In short, they have options. Kaepernick is trying to throw away his best one. At this point, he's not in a position to demand anything. He's the one who hasn't worked hard enough to maintain the edge he once had as the league's most dynamic athletic passer.

Before he can have his pick of where he wants to go, he needs to take advantage of where he is to get things right, to get back on track toward being a $20 million-a-year quarterback.

He should be excited for the change that Kelly brings, instead of refusing to change his stance. When you want to be seen as one of the top leaders at the position, an unwillingness to fight through adversity on and off the field is a bad look.

Kaepernick should seize the opportunity to ace Year 1 with Kelly. Then he can really be in control of the situation.

If the 49ers get the right offer, it wouldn't be too hard to say goodbye to Kaepernick. At that point, Kaepernick would be saying goodbye to his best chance at succeeding in the NFL again.

why is it that journalist think that Professinal Athletes have the same mentality as them?

This Athlete should do this.... this is this athletes best chance that..lol.

These professionals have pride... they also are highly confident in themselves....unlike these journalists.

"best chance at big money if he stays here"...lol. Kaepernick already has some millions. He could get more some where else.

Pride does play a role for players. If most of the leaks we have all had to deal with are true, and it pisses us off that our front office allow this to happen... then how the heck do you think the main person who's credibility was dragged through the floor feels about it.

it's like working for an employer that was trying to screw you... as a player and a person. To have to still work under them, when really you have a chance to have a choice in the matter? I mean Kap said this

Today, the 49ers quarterback was asked if he felt he was being made the scapegoat by somebody within the organization, much like Harbaugh was in 2014.

"I really hope not," Kaepernick said. "For me, I give everything I can to this organization. I give everything I can to my teammates to try to help us win and to try to help us be better moving forward."

as well as...

Q: To keep from worrying about your future job security when all this noise is going on outside, how do you stay focused?

KAEPERNICK: I don't play for job security. Whether football is here or not, I will be fine. I go out – I play to win. I'm not worried about job security when I step in this building.

does that sound like someone who is desperate for money? that would put pride/a grudge aside....and act as if the Front office didn't try to screw him?

some believe that Kaepernick wants to leave because they think that Kelly told him he'd have to compete for the job... I mean we have seen Kap compete at everything...hell he's focused as s**t, playing table tennis against the Ausse.

IMO, if these rumors are true..it's most likely because Kaepernick does not trust the front office. And understandingly so. I mean he's on these one year deals. And he signed that because he trusted the front office would make good on that contract...and I'm sure during that whole time he thought they'd also look for the best interest of their franchise QB.

Like Kaepernick said...he doesn't worry about it, and neither should these reporters. They have TOTALLY Different mentalities. But some fans eat these articles up.

What about most nfl personalities and scouts that have been on record saying Kap isn't very good and can't usually go past 1 read and can't read a defense? Should we believe TK over actual football experts?

Most?
Ya most, there is rarely anyone in the national media that thinks Kap is good and Casserley always comes on the radio the day after games and usually says Kap isn't very good but says it in a nice way

Where can I see the records of what most of the NFL scouts have said about Kaepernick? I would love to read the comments.

NFL scouting reports Colin Kaepernick

The top Google result that came back was: "Hyperbole"
Here is what I got from NFL.com

Overview

Kaepernick has enough physical tools to be viewed as a developmental backup quarterback prospect. Experienced, competitive, productive and durable but very raw in terms of making NFL reads and throws. Will need to become accustomed to making pro-style progressions and must improve overall accuracy.

Did "most" of the scouts in the NFL come to a consensus and write that?

No one knows why he wants to leave, pride, anger, whatever. But it is curious he didn't say so until now, so the reporters have a right to speculate.

Those one year contracts protect the team, not the QB. I think they gave him that because they weren't sure about his "Franchise QB" ability. If he thought different... Bad acumen. And they haven't cut him, so they have made good on the contract so far. I think this front office has their issues for sure, but the player and his agent are the only ones on his side in an NFL negotiation. Any player that is not aware of that is in for a rude awakening. I hace mentioned several times that I don't think Kaepernick's agents seem to have given him the best advice. Or he has ignored it.

As for reporters trying to figure out what's best for him, lol, what is best for them is drama, intrigue, and scandal.

When they hedged their bets with the contract they should have started thinking about a plan B/successor plan for on the field.
