I will say it again. As a Panthers fan, there is very little difference between Newton, Kaepernick, Wilson, and Luck. Some are a little better than others at one aspect...but then not as good as the others. But ONLY in the case of Luck is the fan base willing to give him the time and EXPERIENCE necessary to learn, adjust, and grow. ONLY Luck gets this benefit.

The sad thing is that Wilson, Kaepernick, and now Newton have in 4 straight years, played in the Superbowl. Wilson was a yard away from being back to back champion...and Kaepernick about 5 yards from winning a Superbowl too. Yet it is Luck that is given all the benefit of the doubt.

Not Newton, Not Kaepernick, Not Wilson...but the great Andrew Luck...

But Luck is a real QB...

Exactly, some people don't know what a REAL NFL QB looks like...

Lol a pro bowl alternate on a team that missed the playoffs who cares? Chip Kelly had Foles go to the pro bowl (was the MVP) and now he's getting benched in St. Louis for keenum

"Oh ye quarterback who has failed us!
I stab at thee for hate's sake!"

Calm down, Kaepernick haters. Remember. Less is more.

Goes both ways. But the reality is Kap is still DONE with the 49ers, none of the talk on here will change that. One will be proven right the other wrong shortly.

Not reality until it happens.

And you're telling us it won't?

Difference is Alex Smith is a good QB, Kap is not

20/20 hindsight is great. What did people think of Alex BEFORE Harbaugh?

I bet you he is a "real QB." And next year when Luck is once again amongst the league leaders in turnovers coming off of his brand new 25 million dollar a year contract, we can all blame his defense again...or maybe his WRs...or maybe his HC...or GM...or Owner.

Was in NFCCG in 2013 (and was one tipped pass in the endzone form a repeat SB appearance), Turmoil and injuries surrounding the entire team in 2014, and 2015 was a joke from top to bottom...especially the right side of the offensive line.

He wanted to improve on a bad 2014 year so badly that he went to bat for keeping Geep Chryst his qb coach as OC. But mostly he has to take upon himself to improve. He didn't. Chryst simplified the offense to give him simple passing concept equivalent of 'layups' yet he couldn't hit them.

...you mean the layups that were so simplistic that the Cards saw them coming and jumped them all? Those "simple" ones?

Kap this year didn't trust anything he was seeing. Part of that is himself, part of that IMO is injuries to his shoulder, part of that is the O-Line, and part of that was an overmatched OC. It looked BAD this year. If a player regresses that badly, I really think at some point you can't just say "oh, he just sucks now" and you should take a careful looks at what's going on around him. Football doesn't happen in a vacuum. By no means am I taking all of the blame off Kap as he deserves a healthy portion, but it ain't all Kap by any stretch.

That's usually the trade off if you cater to your qb less capable of grasping a full load offense or reading coverages.

Yet Kap played BETTER in more complicated systems than he did in the "simple" one this year.

...you realize you are making my point for me, right?

He's...because the end all of everything is Pro Bowl voting.

I literally cannot believe people on here think that Luck's problem is a lack of defense.

Again, Luck is a good, young QB. But if Luck had Newton's WRs, Wilson's OL, Kaep's dysfunctional front office...

And played in a system that did not cater to his strengths (Newton, Wilson, and Keap often have to overcome their OCs...while Luck gets to hand pick his OC)...Andrew Luck might seriously double the worst turnover rate by a QB in NFL history.

Trying to make it appear that Luck is not at fault because he doesn't have Newton, Kaep, or Wilson's defense while ignoring the fact that Luck plays on one of the league's most stacked offenses and in an absolutely horrible division is the height of eating too much glue.

Right now Newton & Wilson are at the top of the list, Luck & Kap are battling it out for the bottom. If you polled all NFL fans, I'm positive the majority, would rather have Luck than Kap.

The majority of NFL fans would also want Tannehill over Wilson. If you go to MOST NFL boards, NFL "fans" would want Manziel over Teddy, Taylor, Winston, and RGIII

Let's not get into what a "majority of NFL fans" want out of their QBs. Chief among them being a QB that looks more like them...than like Cam, Wilson, Taylor, Winston, RGIII, Teddy, Kaepernick.

Yea it took this season for them to finally see what I've always seen out of Luck. They woulda taken Luck over all of them a few months back.

His numbers were worse, he wasnt getting better.

So throwing for more yards and throwing two more INTs equals worse...dude give it a rest. You don't like him we get it. I'm not saying he's the long term answer but IMO he's our best option this year. Yes better than Blaine.

Whoa a lot of assumptions here. His passer rating has been decreasing ever since 2012 & his Pass TDs have decreased since 2012 as well. So yeah it equals worse, not by much, but definitely not improving. I'm fine with Kap & Blaine battling it out in TC, don't strongly care who wins.

If you don't care who wins what are you even agruing about? There aren't any QB in the draft or FA that are studs that can start day one. This is what we have too work with and I think chip's offense would at the very least make Kap a servicable QB until we can find that true #1 and holy hell if he actually plays well lol.

You said Kap wasn't regressing, he was/is.

You never answered my question why are you even agruing if you don't care who gets the starting gig ...this is who we have to work with.

Also you made it sound like he numbers were regressing ridiculously but they didn't...2013-2014 is rating went from a 91 to a 86 and you said his TDs have gonna down since 2012 which isn't true he had more in 2013 and only two less in 2014.

20/20 hindsight is great. What did people think of Alex BEFORE Harbaugh?

I was one of the people who always knew Alex Smith was a good QB before Harb (just needed a good coaching staff behind him) and a better QB than Kap (back then and still now) and handing the QB job to Kap when he never earned it was the biggest mistake by Harb and the 49ers, and main reason Harb ultimately failed with Kap and got fired. So yea I had foresight many did not have and actually knew what's the difference between a good QB and a bad one and would like to think watching 33+ years of NFL football I've learned to see what is real talent and what is over rated over hype gimmick

Im not telling you anything. They will evaluate him, Chip will see if he is fixable and see if he can compete for the job, if not he is probably a backup and cut next offseason. I don't think he is healthy on April 1st to cut this year.

Thanks for the all bold like I can't see what your writing lol...who gives a s**t about pro bowl alternates? Dereck Anderson made a pro bowl what's your point. Different teams as well.
Marvin, i don't know what OTHER folks thot about alex before harbaw, but i posted many times, it was impossible to grade or rate alex before he had a) a semi decent OL,
and b) an OC who wasn't a loser. Nervous norvous came closest, but he was so obviously trolling for a HC job anywhere, it became plain he was just biding time while here. (and he got his HC job which he failed). So alex never had a decent OL nor did he have an OC or HC who were worth a hill of beans. At one point, alex had had 7 OCs in 7 yrs ( or 6 in 6...i forget now). Bingo, alex gets his good OL and a better OC and HC, and suddenly he is a very good Qb. And Harbaw knew no O, so really it was roman who was alex's best and certainly longest tenured OC...and miraculously, Alex looks like the #1 pick we chose 5 or 6 yrs before.

There you go. Your argument was weaker. I at least said Kap is DONE with the 49ers before it even happened.
