Colin Kaepernick Thread

Interesting to see what canned response the Big 3 from Santa Clara have regarding Kap. They'll get a lot of questions regarding him.

Early guesses on what the response will be?

I think it'll be the "we'll evaluate every player" BS. What I want to hear is will there be an open competition with Gabbert and Kap. I would like to see kap win it (two depressing ass options at this point, but Gabbert has never shown he can be a starting QB in this league). I want to hear Chip say that.

Yup, no doubt it will be 100% his call. It must have been part of the negotiations to bring him here in the first place.

The trinity when asked about Kaep shall reply?

Kaepernick is very vauable to this organization and right now is focusing on his rehab from his surgeries. He is working hard and we are evaluating his progress. We look forward to seeing him progress in the future and he has our full support. Over the next few weeks and during the offseason we wil monitor his progress and continously evalatuate him and all the players on our roster to help us make the right decisions in the future. Kaep has been a valuable asset to the team and the organization and we hope he recovers quickly and fully...

The majority of my adult life has been in service to others. Military, teaching... even my jobs that actually pay decent money are in service to the US government and a major University hospital. I consider myself very successful. I'm happy, healthy, and have made a difference in not only the world as a whole, but also the lives of the students I've taught.

Chip has been quoted, in many reports when he has been asked over the years what he wants most in a QB. But after having a complete grasp of the play book he places accuracy as his top criteria.

Kap may show up to practice one day in a visor and Kelly may have a flat bill cap.
This is the kind of stuff TK needs to start writing about.

Chip has always been a fan of QBs who can run his offense, regardless of the mobility/accuracy.
I'm assuming that if we switch to a spread no huddle type offense hes going to go with whomever makes better reads and commands the team better.
In his time at Oregon he stuck with Darron Thomas who was arguably the least accurate QB in the NCAA and had the WORST throwing mechanics but Thomas ran that offense perfectly.
