Sadly, his drop in play was blamed on Kaep...by many. Along with Vance's drops. Along with the oline. All one would have to do is go back and read the boards during the 1st half of the season.

Even at his worst, I still considered Cam a top 10 QB in the league. He hasn't always put up the most efficient passer ratings, but his team always moves the ball and he's the most effective runner at the position. He also has a horrible group of WR's around him and has had a poor offensive line most of his career. He's like Kaepernick with better vision and pocket awareness, better size and strength, and a little more accuracy. He also protects the ball better when rushing and doesn't play scared.

I don't know if Kaepernick is top 20 right now. It's debatable whether he's the best QB on this team. I'm rooting for Kaepernick or Gabbert to step up, but neither one of them have Cam's raw talent.

Don't say a damn thing to them. These are the same morons probably think Luck is a HOF QB, Cousins is destined for multiple SB, and Cutler is going to end up as Elway. What the idiots on this board clearly do not understand is that talented, fairly inexperienced QBs need time learn and correct their mistakes.

What is sad is that QBs that have accomplished far, far, far, far less than Colin will get this opportunity.

Kirk "turnover" Cousins...despite the fact he has looked like complete garbage in his second and third year...got an opportunity to start the entire year. Cousins threw more picks than Kaepernick in about 1/10 the attempts. Yet, there was never a real threat of him being benched.

Cutler...who has gotten about 8 OCs and 3 Head Coaches despite the Bears giving him all the weapons one could ask for...going into next season will be the starter...why? because this year he happened not to lead the league in turnovers for a 10th straight year.

And then there is Luck. Who missed 1/2 the season but still ranked in the top 5 in turnovers. Luck, unlike Colin, had a 40 year old backup that outplayed him in the same system. Of course, Luck returns, proceeds to turnover the ball and cost his team wins and gets his OC fired.

Luck will likely sign a contract that makes him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

Then there is the Tannehill, Stafford, and Matt Ryans of the world.


Newton lasted as long as he has because thankfully his coaching staff didn't listen to the endless amount of idiots calling for him to be benched. But make no mistake, Newton, like Kaepernick, is about 2 games from idiots in Carolina calling for him to be benched too.
