Honestly I think they are polar opposites of similar talent and get the same result...one cant make a decision and holds the ball until there is no play to make, the other makes his decision so fast that there is no chance for anything but a 5 yard out. The results are similar but Gab looks better to many because we aren't taking huge sacks and move we do ball on the rare occasion where we don't get a flag, take a negative run play or drop the ball during a drive. An offense with no chunk yardage plays sets its self up for failure because you have to be perfect every down and we are so poorly coached we cant be perfect for even one. With Kap there were so many terrible non drives in a row and then one spectacular play to give you hope. It is a pick your poison scenario.

Not a problem with listening or reading, we disagree. You see it black and white, Kaepernick is incapable of seeing the field or making quick decisions. I see it as he hasn't been tutored in these areas enough. I blame Kaepernick for being stubborn and wanting to use his athletic body over his good student mind.

Of course, you may be correct, but you and others tend to jump on one side or the other and argue forever about a subject that will clarify itself in the long run. I liked Smith more than Kaepernick...some people are still horrified that this is so. It's what makes the zone interesting.

If Smith had been slinging it down field consistently like he has been lately, Harbaugh would have never replaced him in the first place.

That 70% completion is a dump off pass for 2 to 3 yards. That means NOTHING

Actually, Gabbert currently has an average 7.1 yards per attempt which is the highest he's had in his career. QB's currently with less yards per attempt include Rodgers, Luck, Tannehill, Peyton Manning, Flacco and Osweiller.

Smith isn't slinging the ball down the field, and hasn't ever in his entire career. His stats are the same as last year, last in ALEX metric, last in AIR YARDS, same dip and dunk qb, playing it safe, although it certainly isn't a bad strategy, it helps teams win games because he doesn't force anything, however it doesn't win games on it's own either, it's more of a helping hand to a good defensive team and running game, aka we would still be screwed lol.

IMO, Gabbert is a VERY good back-Up QB and they are not easy to find.
