As NC said, context. I'm jazzed that our OLine performed better than how Carolina's did - apparently, (didn't watch the buc-panther game) but lots of credible folks here said the buc DLine did a way better job on Carolina OLine than they did on our OLine - that makes my day!
then of course all those PFF stats that say our OLine is pretty good.
So I think everything I said about the OLine before the regular season began is coming true. In other words, this is a good OLine. I'm not saying Great yet (like the super bowl OLines) but it's not bad, and as long as they stay reasonably healthy (maybe a ding here or there for a game or two) they will be ok and they **WILL** get better simply by just having more reps together. That's the nature of Kyles ZBS. That also leads me to believe that the youngsters on the roster now, and on the practice squad - have a good chance of developing like how Shon Colman developed last year. By the end of the year, my hope is that the youngsters show their stuff in relief and we can see how they have progressed throughout the year.
Definitely. It's one game but it's encouraging either way.
Let's hope they can start stacking the PP games because that's the only real concern here. If they can do that, look out!
Absolutely agree. I think Kyle Shanahan is an underrated OLine coach.

Because, seriously, you don't become a top of the line OC (I think the stats on Kyle is he's been in the top 10 consistently year after year - prior to the 49ers) if your OLine sucks. Second data point - great choice on McGlinchy - he's all that and a bag of chips. Third data point is the Bucs/Panther game with regards to the *context* of our OLine.
I think I'll hazard a guess that by the end of the year, our OLine will begin to look a bit like the old Alex Gibb's lines of old, and good chance that we'll forgo draft pick to the interior OLine side in the 2020 draft. (again, I'd condition that by saying - they'd forgo a 2020 interior OLine draft pick **if** our OLine looks solid by the end of the 2019 season.

)
I really am impressed with how Kyle has assembled his offense. There are a lot of UDFA's on that offense - and I think that's how he's gotten such great talent on defense (Dee Ford, Dick Sherman, hopefully Verett) and great drafts in Greenlaw, Warner, possibly Ahkello. In other words, you can afford to spend a lot draft capital on defense (Bosa, Solomon) if you are getting good UDFA's on offense.
P.S. a fifth round pick that breaks the TE NFL records for yards - that's hitting the lottery in my opinion. Kittle looks to be a Jerry Rice/Tony Gonzales level kind of player. Kyle has some serious offensive chops, and I think he's developing nicely as a defensive coach too.
