I was thinking the exact same thing. I wanted Jensen slightly over Richburg but was happy with Richburg too. It looks like he's developing. I thought it was a heck of a battle between in the trenches for BOTH teams yesterday.

AGREE

Their new DC is doing an excellent job w/their DLIne.

Suh is still very tough.

they have a great interior line and ILBs! vita vea and Suh are true stuffers. Wont apply much pressure on the QB but we saw how running up the middle wasnt really working. Their DEs were pretty ineffective though. Staley and McGlinchey were manhandling them all game. Also having Devin White amd Lavonte David filling in those gaps really helped em.

Throw in the fact that Bruce Arians is a great preparation coach, the bucs defense are no slouches. Their defense did a good job and the offense lost the game.

He wasn't good last yr and was graded as such. I'll keep saying it PFF isn't the end all be all, but it is another variable to use when looking at players and how well they play.

I certainly can't speak to his play last year save for PFF like you noted. But I like him like you did. He seems to be coming into his own now.

KS said it was a terrible play call on his part as he didn't account for the extra rusher on that play. Essentially Mostert was left to block two people.

Thanks!!

Meanwhile the guy I wanted... Ryan Jensen handled Buckner all day.

And Malik Hooker had a huge day.

And Ronald Jones.

And Patrick Mahomes.

let me just pat pat pat myself on the back.

Oh, look a guard that's worth having. I thought those didn't exist NY.

He's a C

Now. But IIRC, didn't he also play G for the Ravens too?

Makes sense, I wonder if that's a thing Jimmy G should account for and audible or call a TO?

Same. Why is that on Kyle? Can't Richburg change the protection call? Garoppolo check out? I know Kyle has a ton of offensive control but...

A while back when he first started out and was a backup. He got his payday as starting C

Agree. Richburg is rusty too, I guess.

Pass Pro was solid it was the interior run blocking that was god awful. Especially Richburg and Tomlinson.

Anyone know what happened here?

Also I'd like to add its not like mostert even blocked the first guy lol....
Sure wish the 9ers had the top level guard talent of the Raiders.

True but you're going to run into good inside defensive play on almost every team on our schedule. Teams try to have good players at those spots because allowing the run is an almost certain L. PP was okay but we rarely threw the ball down the field. 2nd down production was terrible I thought. The deep pitch was ok in theory but it absolutely wasn't executed well at all. I'm not sure if Kyle saw something in film in game planning because that was the staple running play, and it was clear it wasn't working. Bucks were consistently penetrating not just with Suh and Vita but everyone and this was often with 2TEs helping to block. Hopefully this gets better because this team needs to run.

Defenses are usually ahead of the O on the majority. Not playing together hurts a team. The O has so many rusty parts from the OL, especially the interior to Jimmy and new parts (wr). If the line stays healthy they will get better as the season progress. It is not how fast you start but how you finish.

Good point about Suh and Vita, I got to watch the interior when I review the game. Agree on McGlinchy, but the Refs were calling a ticky tacky penalty game. I mean Kwon ejected on something unintentional as that tackle. Both guys went down to prepare for the tackle and the refs call it intentional. First of all stupid rule, and second of all, stupid refs for enforcing that stupid rule. It's not like Kwon is a known dirty player like Suh.

Kwon got ejected because Winston was already sliding, agree that he is not a dirty player, but sliding and helmet to helmet will equal an ejection. Watching the replays, not like he could not avoid it. He was excited to be on the field again, I get it, but it is things like this that are his weakness and why he misses tackles, he is always there around the ball, but needs to be aware so he doesn't miss tackles, sacks and picks.

If someone did it to our QB, we would be up in harms and want that player ejected too.

Buckner was constantly double teamed a lot. So Jensen did not exactly do it on his own. That is why Arik, Bosa, and Dee got sacks and pressure, they often had one on ones. We did not have to even blitz much to cause pressure. Their run gashed us a bit, because of the wide 9, which is to be expected, but getting sacks and picks is big. So don't be surprised, there will be a lot of bend don't break moments for the D.

The coaches know this, that is why they probably went after Wish.

They need to just play together - I say they'll show what they are sometime midseason.

I'll take your PFF word on it.
