Niners418 brought up in the game thread that the long look at Thomas at LG may be an indication that they *might* consider Boone at RT.
Would love to see it.

Yeah but we have one game left to practice it. Should've done it tonight.

Agree! Maybe that's been the plan all along but they wanted to give the eventual backups some reps? OK...I can dream can't I?

That should have been the plan the minute Davis walked away.

Both SF N Seattle could be in the running for worst O-line this season.

So I dont know if you guys noticed this, but Jordan Devey replaced Silberman when Silberman got benched in the 2 minute drill at the end of the 1st half. Silberman is a good run blocker but got his ass kicked any time he need ed to move backwards. Devey wasn't much better, but he was better. Wouldn't be surprised if hes in the mix to start at right guard.

so...
I thought of this before, but don't remember if I posted about it...but we're we trying to force Boone at guard to some how save money on his future contract? Instead of paying him a Tackle Contract?
off topic... in the Madden video game, Pears gets destroyed as well... so I have Boone at RT.
I have Staley-Thomas-Martin-Kilgore-Boone
don't ask me why I have Kilgore at guard... but I feel better at Martin at Center and Kilgore at guard...as long as I don't have to have someone like Loony or the other guys at guard.
Eric Branch @Eric_Branch #49ers LG Alex Boone declined to speak to reporters after the game.

LOL
. The video game? I'm stumped as well why we haven't tried Boone at T. Is it his feet? Even his trainer said he would be better at T and that AD should be at G for us. We must be missing something as outside observers

Line play is down across the league. It might have to do with the gimmicky spread offenses played in college.
To me the ideal is 1 of 2 (there isn't really anyone available this late that would SOLIDIFY the offensive line):
Staley
Boone
Kilgore/Martin
Thomas
Traffic cone
or
Staley
Thomas
Kilgore
Martin
Boone
At least we know what the 49ers 1st round pick will be next year (OLB not withstanding).
