Is Bruce Collie still alive?

Not sure, but if we can borrow Kevin Gogan's brain and put it in a cyborg that might help.

Conrad Dobler could nibble their ankles...
one of the best games or matchups in the history of our franchise which no one talks about. really was in 76 when we were 5-1 and played the cardinals 5-1. we won but that game pitted perhaps the best front four in the history of the nfl with our gold rush vs that awesome dobler dierdorff o line for the cards. epic

Dierdorf was a great player!

I hope we move down early in the draft (round 1), and then move up in the early to mid rounds, to get value players that are sliding. I want to walk out of this draft with no more than 6 players drafted. I hate losing players we just drafted, when we try to sneak them onto our PS. If we walk away with 6 players, they all should make the 53 man, and we can fill our PS with guys we currently have that we want to keep, or look to the UDFA pool like we did last year.

Uh, edge rusher maybe?!

Usually teams go for the most sure bet in the first round, even if it is toward a strength. Kiper has the niners picking Fitzpatrick at #9, for instance. But his reasoning seems faulty unless Fitzpatrick is an elite player, better than other players in other positions. He's another guy who can play safety, corner or slot...and haven't we seen enough of those? I believe they should grab him if he's either a lock down CB or a FS who can lead the defense to a higher level.

Edge, WR, OL...lot's of areas of potential need!

Love the Kevin Gogan reference!

KG had one of the nastiest attitudes toward the opposition of all time.

I hope our guys get bit by that bug.

Bob i am torn between moving back which i would like...UNLESS...the EDGE that makes all 10 defensive players better is there. But how do we know if KS and JL LIKE the EDGE that is there? Thats the hard part in all this,. Since both GM and HC are both very tight lipped so we don't really know what or who they want. If they know the EDGE available at #9 is not going to make it in the pros, fine. Thing is we dont know what our guys think. Same could be said about minkha, Roquan....hard for me to believe one of those 3 isn't what the HC/GM think is the one player that really is a standout defensive player. If there is a game changer in their minds there, then they take him. The only way we move back is that the 3 guys above are all felt to be FAILS in NFL by HC and GM. In that case, then you bet, i would like to see us move back. Because if we do, then we either get a 20 and 35 or 3 twos . Just because we like all 3 of those players, doesn't mean John or kyle think so. And for a change, i am glad that we have no idea how JL and KS feet about each one of these players, because previously, somehow or draft plans were all over the NFL. I much prefer not knowing.
It seems like in a bunch of mocks I see, it has us taking Austin Corbett the Guard/Tackle out of Nevada. It says he could be a day 1 starter for us, so that would be nice to get in the late 2nd round. I hope we land a Center/Guard type late in the draft or in UDFA to battle Magnuson for the back up Center/Guard spot, with the loser going to the PS. It will be interesting to see how this all goes, and I would love to see Cooper win the lG spot with Garnett at the RG spot. Corbett could back both of them up, and then that could make Tomlinson expendable, or we keep both (Tomlinson+Corbett) on the bench with Magnuson+Gilliam. One of Tomlinson or Corbett would most likely not suit up with the 46 though, because I don't see us dressing 9 O-lineman on game days.
I hope we trade back as well, unless an immediate impact player is there for us at 9, otherwise, I'd rather get more ammo as far as early draft capital, and be able to move up and down at will in the first 3 rounds to get as many good players as we can.
Listening to the Kyle Shanahan interview from the owner's meetings, and it sure sounds like the team is high on Laken. I'm starting to think the team is more concerned with adding a tackle than a guard...

The fact that McKittrick still used him exceptionally well in this system despite preferring smaller OG was in itself amazing.

McKittrick could make any lineman better! Even Bubba! Just reread McKittrick's bio and am always amazed at connections good coaches have to each other. Forgot he and Walsh both worked together under Tommy Prothro.

I've been saying that for a year.

Trent Brown is not in our long term plans.
Maybe a trade down with the Pats would be beneficial.

We can get Kolton Miller and Harold Landry.

As long as it takes to develop them these days...esp. for LT...we better be seriously thinking of grabbing one. Too bad the pool blows.

Exactly what I have been saying too. We need our future LT with Trent in his contract year.

Well, if you have been saying it for a year and unless they are in imminent danger of cutting him........

That would be sweet AF but I would miss R. Smith.
