They did play well, got to give Mac credit too he kept going through his progression and would step up in the pocket. That being said it seemed like they were only rushing 4 and were playing the run first.

He gets no push and still gets pushed around on occasion
Brendel was back doing Brendel things against the Rams. Williams, Bartch, Hennessy, Puni and Mckivitz is the best lineup.

They're both ass. It's wild how bad the center play has been during the Shanahan's tenure. Aside from an old Alex Mack, everyone else has been meh to straight ass.

lol we could've told you that. One of the biggest head scratcher moves of the offseason. The amount of money they gave him was insane.

The problem for most fans is that they see Brendel get beat in pass protection and that is all they see. He has had three bad games in PP, mostly pressures, not sacks. Those were all against strong DTs. No excuse there. Gotta play tough agains the best.

In Sunday's game, it was pretty clear Brendel and Burford were not always on the same page, and the stats show that. Bartch was markedly better than Burford but may not have been fully game ready yet, hence the lower number of snaps. It seemed to me that Brendel was more confident in PP with Bartch than with Burford.

What fans don't see is that he is the 8th best Center in the league in run blocking, and the drop-off in ratings is pretty steep below him. Of course, for Shanahan, being able to manage and execute in the run game is a very big deal. Consequently, KS prefers Brendel, but for a good reason.

Bartch started the game and will continue to start as he gets more game fit.
Brendel and burford are both terrible. This should be obvious to anyone who watche's the games. Mckivitz gets beat bad by speed. Puni has gotten better in the last few games but is not as good as last year. Trent's slowly declining.

The best option is to put Hennessey and bartch in... It's a no brainer

Brendel should not be starting.
