But it didn't happen in the 5 wins. Or does the point count only when the 49ers lose?

I hate to break it to ya but even in the wins the Oline was bad at best. We have had a run game what once so far this season?
This outside of the Falcons game it's been ass all season.

Wrong.

On McCaffey's first carry, he got pushed back into Christian's path forcing him to belly back and the hole closed before he could get into it.

Two or three plays later he gave up a hit on Mac.

At the 14:00 mark of the 2nd quarter MH left an unblocked rusher that smoked Jones just he released the ball.

I'll leave it there.

2nd game as a starter... was he on his back a lot, on all four often or got looking behind like a naughty chic

Out of only 10 snaps, that isn't very good.
Everybody thought the Colts were crazy picking Nelson high as they did for a guard but look at their line. They have Jones who everyone said was washed and now they have the number 1 offense it's because they have one of the best line in the league.

I'm glad he's going up against Good D lines (Falcons, Texans, Giants)... he'll need the practice if he's going to unseat Brendel. Even if Hennessy is looking average right now, his performance is better than the naughty chic style (not going by PFF)

This. You put together a good OL like the Colts and a QB like Daniel Jones can look pretty good. Add in a good RB like Taylor, who is also benefiting from that OL, and it's helping Jones that much more. The game is won in the trenches and the Colts on offense are proving that out.
Conor Colby got benched again for the 2nd game in a row. Nick Zakelj replaced him. I don't think Ben Bartch is the answer. Regardless, he can't stay healthy. Maybe Burford needs to start at LG but the team had him as a backup tackle all season.

Matt Hennessy is not better than Jake Brendel. And that says something.

McKivitz got destroyed. Puni has regressed. Trent Williams is not the same player.

We need so many players on both lines. I don't think it can be fixed in one year. This line can't run block. They can't pass block when we are playing from behind. It's not good.
The line is trash and the anchor perennial all pro is fading. Anyone who tells you otherwise is blind. It's killing the team's chances of developing into a real powerhouse.. needs lots and lots of work.

They have a great DL to.
Could be wrong here but I just feel in a league that's getting more and more filled with physical freaks that are both fast AND powerful I don't think you can just build a line that relies completely on it's speed and the scheme to give itself favorable blocking angles.

I think we have an offensive line built for the outside zone but with that getting shut down we're forced inside which exposes the line's lack of any power and diminishes the speed advantage it's supposed to have.

Exactly this.

We need to sign depth and draft some high quality players. We need to invest in the Oline.

I'm assuming Trent Williams will retire. Ben Bartch shouldn't be resigned. Neither should Spencer Burford and Matt Hennesey.

I'd cut Jake Brendel and sign Pro Bowl center Connor McGovern to a free agent deal ranging in the top 5 of NFL centers

C- Connor McGovern, Bills 6'5, 318
LG- Cole Van Lanen, Jags 6'5, 312
RT- Chukwuma Okorafor, NY Jets 6'6, 320
LT- Fred Johnson, Eagles 6'7, 326

Our 1st and 2nd round picks have to be spent on a LT and LG.

1- Caleb Lomu, LT- Utah 6'6, 305
2- Brian Parker, LG- Duke 6'5, 300

Lomu starts at LT
Parker starts at LG
McGovern starts at C
Puni competes with Van Lanen
McKivitz competes with Okorafor

Fred Johnson is the swing tackle
Connor Colby to the PS

We sign a Pro Bowl center to anchor our line. Draft two elite pass protecting technicians with our 1st and 2nd round picks and sign 3 quality veterans for depth.

LT- Lomu / Johnson
LG- Parker
C- McGovern
RG- Puni / Van Lanen
RT- McKivitz / Okorafor

McKivitz is one of the worst RT I've seen. And they just gave him a 3 yr $45 mil extension! They are really stupid with the Oline!

15 mil is backup OT money. Jaylon Moore got 30 mil over 2 years with 21 guaranteed from KC. And McKivitz is better than Moore.

Disagree wholeheartedly on Hennessy. Sure he had some mistakes today but he still showed effort in all his snaps and played till the whistle. That's still better than half ass Brendel standing around the pocket. Brendel has a hard time blocking even when he's helping with a double team.
