When you argue with illogical points of view, you're bound to sound condescending. A wait-and-see approach is really the only option at this point. If people want to declare the sky is falling, maybe they should wait until watching a couple preseason games when there's actually evidence to support that point of view. If you want to be pessimistic, that's fine, but you still need to address the possibility that youngsters step up and we kick some ass next year. I'm optimistic, but am fully aware that we could suck balls too. Just don't see the point of bashing the FO, when Baalke has drafted 33 players in the last three years to at least give this team a shot to be competitive despite losing so many pieces. I just don't understand why negative nancy posters won't give the FO a chance before even seeing the product in the preseason, let alone training camp.

100% agree, but to dismiss certain posters negative opinions while acting like positive opinions are fact is the kind of condescension that ruins discussion. No one knows what is going to happen this year right now, but forming an opinion that the team will be worse off because of the off-season or will be better off because of it still remains to be seen. Going off of what has happened (losing three future HOFers to retirement/free agency amongst other things) is more than enough reason to feel less than optimistic when there isn't a ton else to go off of. I'm all fine with people feeling either way, but the way certain posters are going about it is ridiculously hypocritical.

Having a less-common opinion is awesome actually. Tact is everything...as is HOW you present your stance. People will always respect your stance if it's genuine and well-thought out and backed up well (even if it is a different opinion).

The issue with the dooms-dayer crowd in here is that few of you are willing to put in ANY time really backing up your one-line inciting posts of which you quickly turn into "victims" once called out. And you know exactly what you're doing...as do all of us.

Part of tact is timing too. If you are blasting negative one-line incite posts 5 minutes after we sign Torrey Smith, you have issues that go far beyond "being a fan." Also, keep in mind that these are OTA's. These are positive and exciting times for fans...young guys are developing, we had no major injuries, the team is forming it's ID, etc. Many fans want to focus on the now and the future rather than the past.

I am firmly in the "hate this offseason" camp, but I will say, I love Tomsula,always have, and am rooting for him, and the team, but, I little confidence in his staff. Managing and Gyeep were second and third on my list of coaches to dump, right behind Roman. The loss of so many key players takes the heat off, my expectations can't get any lower. That being said, I am really jacked about the things Im hearing from mini camp, and hold out hope that we will surprise a few teams this year.
