JT: You obviously know Steve -- there've been a few people that have tried to get Steve out of retirement over the last couple of years and he just decided not to. I worked with Steve over in the Europe League. And I mean, obviously the quarterbacks that have played for him in the college level, at the college level that have moved on, there's obviously nice success there. But where I got to see Steve, which was most impressive to me, was on the field in Europe. Obviously a developmental league, so you had different quarterbacks every year. And to watch Steve change his approach with each different guy and to really evaluate, you know, the mechanics and the traits of each guy and then coach them to those strengths, that's what's really neat about Steve Logan. I'm really excited about him, along with the whole staff.

This is what I couldn't understand when people on here were making a big deal out of hiring former NFLE coaches. The fact that it was a developmental league meant that coaches had to work their asses off to get these players ready to play and possibly move on to the NFL and many times they had to start all over next season with new players. I would say that would promote good teachers.

Yup and b/c you are playing within NFL rules and b/c most of these guys are "men" and not fresh out of college and don't get to stay in a system for 4 years often along with the challenges of playing in a different country, I'd say NFLE experience is a step below the NFL and above just about any big college HC position/experience.

Nothing would please me more - we'd be set for the long run.

I've been tracking his every move for 3+ years now in these threads: http://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/niners/180887-2015-team-needs/
and have always thought he was a top 3 GM. I think Tom Gamble is really going to help him as well. He's going to need a long vacation this summer!

I love the Tom Gamble hire. Nice work on the 2015 Team Needs Thread

Thanks. Feel free to add your own outlook anytime. The 2013 and 2014 links inside also help outline all the moves he made. I refer back to them at times for various reasons...forget how many moves we make and when.

They'll open the glove compartment and find the owners manual for a Model-T, look at each other with confounded WTF.... Then laugh hysterically when Chryst blurts... "Ahhh, previous owner"...

Just listened to the interview. Wow, even more pumped after hearing this quote from Logan on working with Chryst: "I tell you what, I called my wife the other night and told her I'm as excited right now as I've been in about 40 years of coaching."

Well, taking out the words "of coaching" sure creates a brand new suggestive connotation doesn't it?
