I see these posts and it defies explanation. Its as if u forgot the sixteen years bt our previous nfc championship appearances. Harbaugh took a team that was 6-10 and got us within one poor fumble call from going to the superbowl his 1st yr. Yet somehow he was not built mentally?? I assume u say this bc hed blow up on the field. Not every1 is chill. Some of us blow up. Harbaugh was comfortable being himself. He got results. We ddnt win it all but we won more than we had been since 1995 up to his arrival. Built mentally...keep n mind ppl sd the same of Walsh. Said he was too soft, which an argument could b made as to y he left.
But i wouldnt say 'he wasnt built mentally to coach the nfl.' If he pulled a nick saban or a petrino u might have a point. Its not as if there was a lack of opportunity to return to the nfl. He's very likely to come back after a few nationall titles and heaven help us if he comes back in our conference or division. One of my favorite quotes of his was 'we ask no quarter and we give none'
Thats a quote of a man mentally built for the nfl and ill root for him as my 2nd favorite whatevr team he goes to.
I say this because after four years we still had tons of delay of games and wasted time outs. Because his hand picked quarterback, his wunderkind project, actually regressed under his vaunted tutelage. Because once the rest of the NFL figured out how to stop his "brilliant" offense, he had no answer other than to blame player execution, which I might point out to you, is his responsibility ultimately. I never liked his sideline antics, they were childish and surely had something to do with some of the game changing penalties that always seemed to go against us. Sure our record improved, but it wasn't like our talent level was bad when he got here. If we'd hired a better coach, and there are quite a few out there, we'd have been better off. Time will ultimately tell, but Harbaugh will be busy trying to rebuild the train wreck that is Michigan for at least 5 years before he can compete with Ohio State, much less win a championship.
# of 8-8 seasons in 8 years bt mooch n harbs were just one and tht was as good as it got. I know there r those of u who love the sedated belichekians who look like they smoked a joint before the game, but so many times I would b ranting in my living room only to check my tv screen n c harbaugh angrily doing the same to the ref n i would calm down bc I knew harbs was sayin what i was screamin.
I didnt scream tho when singletary screamed. But that was bc we were usually down 20 w a 5-7 record. I shouted w harbs bc the game mattered. Yeah he needed to improve things. Most every coach does, but are the 'better coaches' ur referring to include Tomsula? Harbs had us in the superbowl conversation every yr n i believed if given the time hed have gotten us the ring.
Sorry but ur gripes about his deficiencies take on a tone of a kid who gets a sports car for his birthday but complains bc the window tinting wasnt dark enough.

Funny. I like how u work with the analogy but if i were sticking up for Singletary, Nolan or Erickson, your point would b valid. We had a dominant team that was weak before Harbaughs arrival.
