Damn man let him go. No amount of complaining or reminiscing is going to bring him back. Time to move on.
Reading in to that a tad to much.

The press conference was a little rough, but he'll get better with experience.
One thing he said that I liked was after he was asked about a Super Bowl prediction, saying "The difference between confidence and arrogance is ignorance."
I think this whole situation will be determined by what kind of OC he selects.

He sounds a million times better in this interview than the press conference earlier.
Sounds reassuring. I can' t listen to it at the moment (at work). Can you give a rundown on what sounds better?
He's just speaking better. Having a conversation with Tom with give and take. He's answering questions with more ease. You can tell some of the questions he isn't ready to answer because there is no staff in place. He's definitely not throwing out "We're bring the west coast offense back to the 49ers" like Jim did. lol
Cool, thanks StOnEy

Not gonna happen unless you have a time machine to go an change history. In the alternate timeline, Harbaugh goes to Miami.
I said this before. Nothing short of the Niners winning the Superbowl will get some people to stop talking about Harbaugh and blaming the FO.

If the press conferences were the best indicator of future success, then Mike Nolan should be a 3x SB winner by now. He owned the press conferences. I don't miss that style either, and I've since learned not to put much stock in meaningless things like press conferences..

now maybe he is just one of those people who do not do well in front of a big crowd . i am in the media and i know many people who do not do well during a prepared speech but once they can talk off the top of their head they are so much better. i am in radio so i do not do well in regards to public speaking but in a studio, i pretend i am speaking to one person through the mic and its a big difference. some coaches just have different comfort zone levels

I'm a film history major and I can write pages and pages and pages of film analysis. In college I would write 15-20 page reports the day before they were due with only a basic outline having been done beforehand. Get me talking one on one with another person interested in film and I can get specific and detailed about technique, style, the psychological effect of editing, etc.
I tried doing a podcast about classic films with a couple friends that I guarantee was heard by no more than a dozen people, tops. I was nervous as hell and when I listened back to the recording afterwards I said "um" possibly every third or fourth word. "I, um, appreciated the, um, decision to use the longer, um, take because allowing the, um, actors, um, room to move around the, um, set allowed their, um, presence to, um, dominate the space..."
Disaster. DISASTER. Totally stuck my foot in my mouth.
So, yeah, I can see someone who is not good in front of the media in a tense atmosphere being just fine - and knowing how to do his job - in the coaches room and on the sidelines when it actually matters.
He'll get more comfortable with the media as time goes on. The important thing now is to hire some solid coaches.
