These are the kind of moves that perfectly demonstrates how clueless the owner is. Jed York has now successfully slotted himself into the ranks of his peers like Woody Johnson, Daniel Snyder and the likes. Nothing good can come out from a move like this. Is very simple, York happens to like Tomsula (and I have nothing against Tomsula as a person per se), but that is all there is. There wasn't an ounce of consideration given to what he may call the other stuff such as qualifications, the problem of the offense and so forth.

As a result, the players have to suffer and the fans have to suffer. This team will regress so much that is not even going to be funny while our friends the Seattle Seahawks will keep soaring.

Too much talent on both sides of the ball to go back to the dark ages. We'll be back in the playoffs next year, book it.

Follow him around when he goes out drinking, catch him saying something brazenly racist, take that s**t to tmz and force the Yorks to sell the team.

LOL...might work!

Someone hack his iCloud and let's get the tranny orgy pics right meow!!!

How are the players going to suffer? They seem happy with Tomsuls.

When they end up with a crappy season and miss the playoffs again. Trust me, some of the defensive players may be OK now, but once we start to tank from the word go as the season kicks off, oh you bet they will suffer.

So players are happy, Rascal is not happy.

It won't be a crappy season.

Sorry, not just Rascal, 70% of the fans as indicated by all the polls here.

As for the season, that depends on what your definition of "crappy" is, I am not that extreme and I didn't mean 2-14, but if you are cool with say 6-10 then OK.
Reading some of these comments you would think the world is ending. Before the whole Harbaugh dilemma, Baalke was looked at by most fans as a great GM. I am by no means a Jed York fan, but the Tomsula hire makes sense for this team right now. The players like him and that's a good start. I would rather have Tomsula than Gase who is just as unproven. Right now we have to hope for some great hires for OC and DC and then maybe we can rush to judgement.
This just proves how much dumbed down America has affected Niner fans, especially younger ones. Give it a rest. Tomsula is a great teacher and motivator. Virtually all the players love him and support his selection. Boldin, Davis, Wright, Boone have all expressed their excitement. Mariucci raves about the selection as perfect for the 49ers. Fans cry about losing Fangio but have no clue that it was actually Tomsula who drew up and created most of the defensive schemes. Fangio simply implemented them on game day. Look for this year's defense to be much more aggressive than Fangio's. In NFL Europe, Tomsula taught football to European players. He may look like a blue-collar defensive line coach but he has a brilliant football mind. Would you so-called fans enjoy salt with your huge plate of crow that you'll be eating in the coming season?

The polls here reflect the hysteria. This happened during the Harbaugh recruitment as well. And I would count anything less than 10 wins as crappy.
Tomsula has the highest win percentage of all time

1-0

Please tell us why it won't be a crappy season. Is Tomsula a X's and O's head coach? Does he know how to prepare for opponents and form strategies in the offense and defensive sides? Has he been innovative at anything... ever? Has he coached in college or NFL and succeed? Has he groomed a successful QBs at any level? Does he have coordinators that are highly regarded in the NFL? Does he teach anything else than DL position in the NFL? Has he been a successful coordinator in the NFL or College?

I mean please give us a reason why it won't be a crappy season. Just because the players say they like him? Or because Jed York mentions Bill Walsh's name?

10 wins huh ? OK, I will hold you to it when the time comes. Sorry, I just can't see it. And it has nothing to do with hysteria and over-reaction. I am just basing it on common sense. We now have a head coach that knows nothing about the offense nor will he be able to "teach" Kap anything. In that process, we have managed to get rid of the only gem left in Fangio who has always held down the fort for us even when we had a truckload of injuries he still managed to field a top 5 D. The rest of the defensive staff are also gone including Donatell. And no hot OCs and DCs would be willing to join the 9ers working under some no-name NFL Europe under-qualified head coach. So, the end result is we won't be able to fix the offense while the D is going to regress, viola we have ourselves a perfect recipe for a completely disastrous season, OK may be not completely, just call it 6-10 for now.
