Are we officially headed back to the dark ages?!

Once again I have to ask...how do you glass half full people come to the conclusion that promoting the guy who was the assistant to the assistant of the guy we fired to the most important position on the team is going to improve anything? We went 8&8 this year with the guys who installed the system running it. Now you hand over the keys to their lesser, change nothing else, likely lose some players and think we are going to get a better result? I just don't see it, and I don't honestly think the front office does either. I get a weird Miami Marlin's vibe from all this...Jed got his pretty new stadium off the blood, sweat and tears of good players and a good coach and that will fill the seats for a while so now it is ok to just sit back and rake in the money. We don't have to be any good for a while.

Yea every single player was happy when Singletary was hired as well, that is just all emotion. Yea they like the guy, but that has got nothin to do with being a Head Coach. JT has been passed over by the Vikings, Browns and never even been a coordinator. Brilliant football mind? Motivator, ok. Il give that. He motivates well , but that only takes you so far. Schemes, play calling , consistency and organization are what will make us good. JT hasnt given us any info on his beliefs yet so Il reserve Judgment. The thing I do know is that he has absolutely no power and the front office is running everything. He is not hiring his own staff, the front office is helping him. This guy has no control over anything except standing on the sidelines. Very weird

When they end up with a crappy season and miss the playoffs again. Trust me, some of the defensive players may be OK now, but once we start to tank from the word go as the season kicks off, oh you bet they will suffer.

So players are happy, Rascal is not happy.

It won't be a crappy season.

Please tell us why it won't be a crappy season. Is Tomsula a X's and O's head coach? Does he know how to prepare for opponents and form strategies in the offense and defensive sides? Has he been innovative at anything... ever? Has he coached in college or NFL and succeed? Has he groomed a successful QBs at any level? Does he have coordinators that are highly regarded in the NFL? Does he teach anything else than DL position in the NFL? Has he been a successful coordinator in the NFL or College?

I mean please give us a reason why it won't be a crappy season. Just because the players say they like him? Or because Jed York mentions Bill Walsh's name?

Well, I don't see any logical justification from you or anyone else here as to why it will be a crappy season other than you didn't get the hire you wanted.

So here are a couple of points: Tomsula can pick up the reins with no major reorganisation, and we have one of the best rosters in the NFL.

I have already given you a whole list of justifications in my other reply to you.

The justification from me and everyone who is upset at this hire and all that has been going on are in the questions I just asked you. This isn't about the hire I wanted. No candidate that we looked at comes close to Harbaugh IMO. Answer the questions I asked and you'll get the answers as to why majority of the people hate Jed York and this hire. We had a talented roster before Harbaugh and nothing happened until he became our Head Coach. It doesn't matter if we have the best roaster in the NFL. If we don't have a Head Coach that can take advantage of it then it doesn't matter at all. Just ask Singletary.

I haven't seen your response and try not to get so precious about it.
Tomsula was a great hands on position coach, well that is all gone now. He is a delagate and his information needs to be handed down to others. He is now telling people what they should do instead of being told. His days of hands on coaching are over and we will see how he deals with it. I am very skeptical and I think we have the right to be considering his lack of experience. Continuity on the team? Where? We have now fired every single coach we have except for Rathman. A RBs coach, jeez Gore can run that meeting by himself. I like JT a lot. Lets be real, Jed York is a total hack who is just constantly meddling in football business and has no idea what he is doing. He was to weak to deal with JH, He was to weak to hold out an get a stadium in SF, Jed needs to stick to what he knows, Improving wireless and creating better apps to get faster hotdogs to the seats. Leave the football to Baalke and stay out of his way. We are definitely behind the 8 ball going into 2015 and as long as York is around we will always be walking on egg shells

Not on offense we dont. This roster is severely over rated on the offensive side and the 49ers just promoted the defensive line coach. Let's not act like there isn't cause for concern here. I'm not saying we're doomed to fail but let's be real here. Gonna have to hit it out of the park with the coordinator hires.

Yeah, leaving town and making room for the 4-3 defense. With Fangio leaving, the secondary coach had to go too. His secondary philosophy is based on the 3-4 aliment. They said Tomsula is taking the team in a new direction and the 4-3, and pre-Harbaugh area football is where we're going.

This is not going to be good.
Its now official...all position coaches fired by Tomsula. I don't expect to see anyone good around here anymore. We all know now it all comes down to being cheap. Cant be to optimistic about this, seeing what we went through before Harbaugh.
This is the NFC West. We'll be in continual battle with Rams for the, "We don't sunk as bad as you guys award". Man, I just can't see us being a good team.

This is bad.

There is a difference between saying there is no cause for concern and saying, as so many here are saying, that we are doomed to decline and fall, being crap, etc etc. I don't think the O is overrated. I think we just need a decent O coordinator. And a decent line coach. Note I say decent. Not hitting it out of the park, just decent.
Just because he knows how to massage players ego doesn't mean he's an X's and O's guy. That's my problem with the hire. I think he'll be out coached in most games unless he hires a strong staff.
