From everything I have read & heard Baalke didn't approve of a big deal for kaep (hence all the clauses in the contract) harbaugh pushed them to sign him.
I think kaep is on a short leash niw

After we saw how DEN capitulated to SEA defense and Manning shriveled up I believe we had even greater incentive to do a deal for Kap and it was a huge one at that

none of that makes sense to me. Running Harbs out of town started before the season which is when Kap got his contract. No way Baalke signs a guy because Harbs wants him.
The contract does have clauses in it but Trent controls the roster.

It's Tomsula's team now and he'll bring in his own guys. Harbaugh brought his own OC and DC with him from Stanford. Most new HC's bring in their own guys...it's the way it's been forever. Just like the head coach search, we'll hear all sorts of stories about this guy and that guy. Don't buy into any of it 'til Tomsula actually hires someone. The media frenzy/hype runs more rampant than ever this time of year during the coaching carousel. Kyle Shanahan could be a breath of fresh air...Mark Trestman knows a lot about offense...Elway interviewed Gase today for their HC position...doesn't mean he'll be the one, though. I have faith Tomsula will bring in a good OC. This man is an extremely organized, detail-oriented coach.
