Christensen has been on the Colts since 2001, through multiple coaching changes. That dude is not going anywhere.
Front office will be assisting JT in hiring of staff! good. So funny, so our coach has literally zero power. He cant even hire his own staff. JT is a good coach, but my god he is already getting walked all over. Im excited we got a coach, a "yes' man it is. Baalke and Jed wielding power behind the scenes. What a puppet regime

Anybody who says Marc Tressman must be young, or a new 49er fan, I remember him leading the nfl in yardage, but not scoring, and always bogging down in the redzone, and Jerry Rices Avg going to complete s**t, our offense lost all explosiveness, we where like ball control with rb outlets, no scoring, and no threat of a down field attack, he did the same thing leading the raiders in 2002, look up the stats.

Then you must be young or new. 49ers were #1 in scoring in the NFL in 1995 with Trestman as OC. Jerry Rice has the best season of his career that year.

Not really pro or anti Trestman at this point, but people are saying some silly stuff. He did a fine job back when the 49ers still had insanely high standards, he never developed a running game but he never had much talent to work with either(Derek Loville )

Not scoring? #1 scoring offense in 95, #3 in 96. The offense's problems were that we lost Watters and had to use Loville as the #1 RB.

Trestmans biggest problem has always been that regardless of skill of hb he usually throws the ball in excess of 60% of the time. He did it with us in 1995, he did it with Charlie garner in Oakland and he did it with forte in Chicago.

I had always held a huge grudge for him doing that in 1995, because he took a 50/50 offense and made it a 60/40 offense. The argument has always been we lost watters which was true, however comparing '94 to '95 we went from a 3.9 ypc to 3.6 ypc. IMO,that's not enough of a erosion in ypc to only run the ball 38% of the time. I think our PA game would have benefited from a bump in running the ball 5-7% more and any lose in total ypg could have been off set by the fact we had a top defense in 1995.

Despite my thoughts on 1995 trestman, I feel the league in more in line with his style. He really is a guru of the qb position and if he had a coach to make him run the ball just a little more it could be a successful partnership.

The problem is he ONLY uses the starting RB. Does not get the others involved to spell the starter if you want to be committed to the run. Forte had 2 monster seasons, 350~ combined touches both years. So the starter produces, but overall he does not run the ball much.

he never seems committed to the run. the year raiders went to the SB...I mean yeah Gannon was doing well, but he couldnt do anything against the Bucs in the SB ....and then raider players accused HC of throwing the game because they barely ran the ball.

but theres trestman for you. he decided to pass the ball with his mvp against whats possibly the best pass D of all time. RBs combined to get 9 carries. raiders were blown out after staying close because of all the picks by gannon.
Any chance we hire a name foroc

I think Chudzinski would be a good fit for our current offensive personnel and get way more production from the TE's

both chud and trestman have similar problems. they get away from the run and are content with chucking the ball too much and letting qb 'go to work'. that can and most likely WILL be a problem.

this.
Chud did coach Gore at the U

i am not over joyed with todays news but i also know the most important hires are the ones to come,, my question for you guys is,, do we know who they will interview for oc and qb coach? are those things usually done behind closed doors, unlike the head coach thing, and we really do not know what is going on until they actually announce the hire? thank you and all we can do is hope for the best and hope they know what they are doing

either one would make me feel better about today,, what do you think about a qb coach?
Scott Linehan would make me feel pretty good for an OC at this point but I'm keeping my expectations low, like Hostler low.

Would linehan be considered a lateral move(pass game coordinator =OC) or is he totally free to negotiate?

Clyde Christensen, Colts QB coach.

After I read this I was sold. He can fix Kaep!!!

All I keep hearing about is who can fix Kaep....WIth all the drama that has happened..It wouldn't surprise me if Kaep is not our quarterback come this Fall.

I think he is a free agent. Had a 1 year contract with Dallas.
