I would say a majority of those that are iffy on this currently feel that way. Tomsula with a great staff is fine and dandy but if they go Mickey Mouse mode and hire a bunch of rejects, I'll be even more down on this move.

He has been a running back coach for a long time. Has experience in the west coast offense. If its a constant at oc we are looking for this may be our best shot. He has been a coach here for a long ass time.

I would not push for Rathman to be the OC, but he has been successful as a RB coach under numerous regimes and has worked in a s**t ton of systems if memory serves me correctly...
Hes also a 49er, so i couldn't help but support him, but he wouldn't be my first choice.
