That's BS.

I'd say the peeps who drink so much in the parking lot that they can't remember the game are a much bigger problem.

The issues in the stadium right now stem from it being new and people want to get in there and see everything the new site has to offer...and that's particularly true of the club seats .If I dropped that kind of money I'd sure as hell want to check out the clubs. Over time tho everyone will have seen everything. Peeps who shouldn't have gotten tix to begin with will lose them or sell them. This was all to be expected.

No Marvin, your right. It IS BS. I of course am generalizing because in general, it's true. Just like what you say about the stumbling drunks. They don't help at all. BUT since we're talking about getting a loud stadium, those drunks might come in handy. While those fans that aren't as avid prob don't help the situation
You shouldn't take the "rich people are ruining it" argument personally. I KNOW how you are cuz I've been reading your posts for years. No one is talking about you. Just like I don't take offense to the "drunk gangbanger" argument, even though I know exactly what I look like. People around here will always say the "rich people" because even though the stadium is new, it's an old, old story. It was the same at the Stick but now it's multiplied

I really hate the "real fans" argument. What exactly is that? If you make a certain amount of money you are no longer a real fan?

I AM a Silicon Valley nerd (proud of it) and I know a hell of a lot more about what I'm watching at games than the drunken baffoons who sit near me and can seldom even tell who had the ball.

I am sorry if i hurt your feelings. I still stand by my statement though! Maybe I was generalizing, but how else do you explain the empty stands and lack of interest at the new stadium. Maybe you are smart, lucky and have lots of money to spent that allows t to attend the games. But you can't deny the fact that this is NOT the same crowd as the CSP. Again, I am sorry if generalized, but its the truth.

Sad but those are the real fans still sitting in their seats. The others are in the restaurant or site seeing.

Change that to hard core fan then. As I was saying before, the yuppie's of the 80's and now this new fan that goes because they can, don't seem to care. My father always told me if you don't work hard for what you got you won't care about it as much then if you did

I have never been drunk or even buzzed at a 49er game but I have always been loud as f**k.

As a matter of fact, I have never drank any sort of alcohol at a 49er game…just sort of high one time lol. Was at the Saints-49ers playoff game and had a BLAST- atmosphere was electric.

But please don't be offended by the 'rich people coming to the games' comment. I did not intend to isolate a certain demographic, just wanted to suggest that fact that HIGHER ticket prices are pushing out a pretty large group of diehard fans who can no longer afford the games.

The point wasn't that every rich fan who comes to the game is a quiet lame-o. Just that we are now getting a different class of people at the games, not quite like what we were getting at Candlestick.

And I can say all this from primary experience, since I worked at 7 out of 8 home games this season.
When I went to 9ers vs steelers a couple years ago we were loud as s**t and it was like 60-40 9ers fans. I did also notice people around me seriously not understanding downs? How can it be 2nd and 15? I thought 10 yards meant a first down, I heard this from a man. When we were on defense my buddies and I were standing and screaming as loud as we could and told to sit down by security guards. f**kin idiots trying to start a wave right after Staley had said don't do the wave while we're on offense. It's like the 9ers game is just something to do and they don't give a s**t who wins. We do have great fans just like every other team, I don't know maybe it's the type of people that live in the area.

I've said it again and again….we have a pretty s**tty fan base overall. Not everyone, but for the most part.

And this applies to those who go to the games and the ones who don't either.

I f**king hate when I run into someone wearing some Niner gear, proceed to talk to them about the team/games/news etc., only to find out that they have no clue. Lots of fair-weather, bandwagon and misinformed fans.

OK. But THAT IS what we're talking about, isn't? You're not in your seat for more than a quarter and there are many like you. Helping the fact we have no home field advantage. CASE IN POINT

I think I do enough to show my support. Maybe not as much as you, who am I to say? Been going to games for 20 years. Dam, during the s*** years too. I paid the SBL. Haven't missed a home game in 10 years. 8 am every Sunday. Thank God for Early Entry Passes. Got Tailgater of the Game twice. Worked at the Stick when I was in HS. Been to Seattle 5 times. Oakland every game since they came back. AZ. Dallas. Miami. And I still haven't decided on this year, NY or Chicago, big decision. Got a nice little 9er wardrobe too. You think that's enough? Should I do more?

But I guess you're right, there ARE a bunch of goodies. Mmmm all those over priced goodies. So screw it! STH since 2004, I deserve more too! There's things to see. The field? The live game my ticket says I paid for? Who cares? This place is plush!! It's the Vegas of stadiums. Seeing it once is just not enough. No way. Screw the game. They can probably here us from anywhere in the stadium anyway. It IS pure technology after all. They'll be ok, the sound bounces off the luxury suites anyway.

Man RedDog,
you just about told my story : ) I travel to an away game every year. This year will be Chicago as long as it isn't in December. Our family business was in Hunter Point for years too. The hood baby hahaha. Listen it's not productive to see who is a stronger fan and this and that, the original point of this thread is for us to realize that we have a responsibility to the team as fans to sit in our damn seats and be loud. Support. The team needs to get creative and find ways to initiate crowd noise throughout the game, period.

My buddy is old school italian and he told me the stadium is cursed. Bad juju. Versus Chicago we are up three scores, Frank Gore breaks a 51 yard TD that would have sealed the game. Gets called back on a bad call. Bad juju. Versus the Rams, about to pull out a miraculous win. Ball at the 1. Roman calls a QB sneak behind a rookie center who can't get push, bad exchange, fumble. Bad juju. Sherman eating Turkey on our logo, bad juju.
