The lack of crowd noise is due to a few reasons:

-This stadium is full of new s**t to check out, like the museum, new food, stores, all that non-football game related stuff. Seems like there are too many people coming to the games who are not actually 49er fans.
-Which could be because of the new ticket prices that are through the roof.
-Higher ticket prices, more rich people coming to the games. We are no longer getting that San Francisco population, but a larger amount of people from Santa Clara

Lots of tourists too... I think I will continue to work only until the SuperBowl happens at Levi's Stadium just to experience that. I hope it improves...but the lack of an electric football experience at the home of my beloved 49ers is a bit sickening

You partly have a point. There are a lot of people at the games that aren't die hard fans, they are there because they've been given the opportunity to check out a game. Too many rich people? Come on, rich has nothing to do with passion.

Bottom line, the 49ers have built a new stadium and it's their responsibility to continue to find ways to get people to be loud. One of the guys on this stream had a great idea. Have the video guys film some of our legends gritting their teeth telling the crowd to get loud. Guys like Ronnie Lott, Eric Davis, Fred Dean, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Bryant Young, Manu Tuiasosopo, Rathman..... Put some game day face paint on them and video them saying, " get loud ", and then play that on the jumbo tron. Great idea.

Yes, too many couples, just coming around for a casual day at the new 49ers stadium. Dude, the jacked up ticket prices are not the cause of everything, but they are definitely eliminating a good amount of diehard fans from the games. Some people just don't have that kind of money; not everyone who is a diehard/loud at the games has to have season tickets. Hell, I am from South San Francisco and had been to only 7-8 Niner games before this season, including preseason. It's expensive man: at least 80ish for a ticket, 30 for parking, 10 on food, 10 on transportation.... And now it is even worse.

Sure, there were a ton of people who bought season tickets regardless during the transition from SF to SC...but you're kidding yourself if you think that a change in location hasn't brought about a pretty huge change in the demographics of game-goers. I remember seeing lots of groups of Niner fans coming to games...I tend to see more couples, and there is nothing with that, it is just that it has become like a place to take your girl on out on a date than to go and cheer your ass with your buddies for 3 hours while you watch your favorite team in the entire world play.
AGREED 149%. The tailgating alone shows it. I used to know where the Webzone TG was. I could go to Pole E, R, K and always find friends. Knew who they were and where they would be. Club 49, Redzone, Niner Empire, La Clicka, etc, etc. I knew where to get a shot and where to get some lobster. I knew where I could talk ball and where I could go flirt.
Now? Even though I tried to park in the same place every game there was always different people around.

Stadiums are always quiet the first few years.

Where's that stat about win/loss records in new stadiums? It takes something like 2 years before a new stadium's win percentage is up to NFL average.

The noise interferes with texting, keep it quiet, maybe have a noise free area in the Stadium.
Its going to take some time to "break-in". I've for one have never been to a 9ers home game since I currently reside in Tucson, AZ. I been forced to go head to head with these punk-assed Cards fans when the 9ers come down. I have noticed from broadcasts that the atmosphere in Santa Clara almost feels like an away game. We need to establish ourselves there and create memories. I like the idea of finding a way to block the sun. Also generate some artificial noise through the PA, everyone else does it. I think the monitors, scoreboards and LED graphic banners need to let fans know when and when not to cheer. I would suggest making a cheesy/humorous commercial played before the game and during timeouts asking the fans not to cheer during our huddle or snap count, but the one main reason that we aren't getting enough noise is that I'm not there, hopefully I can get out to one soon and show you white collars how to cheer for your team.

Kinda random thought but... I'm from the East Coast and have been a Niner fan about 25 years... I have never had the pleasure of going to a home game. I always hear the Wine and Cheese comments and picture the home crowd to be a bunch candy asses..this assumption matches up with the lack of crowd noise i always see on TV and hear about on the message boards... but then i always see the headlines about dudes stabbing each other in the parking lot and what not... So i guess what i'm getting at is whats the deal? are the fans in stadium a bunch yuppies and the fans in the parking lot are bunch of nut jobs? You tell me!
It's called winning. If you win people will stay and yell. If you lose people will leave and shutup.

Too many Silicon Valley nerds in the stands. Real fans are priced out.

You don't get it.... many of the games they were winning.

starting 1-2 and going 4-4 halfway isn't really winning.

factor in the heat that most never expected and you get what you get.

First of all, those "stabbings" was one incident. Also the couple of idiots from the Central Valley that knocked a guy out that weighed 100lbs less than they are shouldn't count. So I'll break it down like this...
Everyone has the "wine and cheese" crowd but it's waaay more prevalent in SF due to the 80's. Our success started around the same time the yuppie's started their run in the Silicon Valley. You couldn't get a seat back then because you were priced out. Had to be a season ticket holder (remember no Internet, just the homie from Double Rock to haggle the price with). So now in the Bay, they gravitate because they "feel" that's who they belong to. The same way that if your from a neutral city but you consider yourself a tough guy, you "become" a raider fan. That's why you hear that a lot of fans aren't even from SF.
So what happens (not including this year) is the real hard core fans have big TG's and in spots can get as rowdy as any other place. But once you get inside, and everyone is forced to go to their respective seats, the yuppie's take over. Tell the ushers they can't hear over your constant yelling I've been kicked out of the Stick more than once for that. Everyone knows it so you have to abide by it. I couldn't tell you how many times I've been told to sit down or how many times they're not even watching. Talk about golf clap

I really hate the "real fans" argument. What exactly is that? If you make a certain amount of money you are no longer a real fan?

I AM a Silicon Valley nerd (proud of it) and I know a hell of a lot more about what I'm watching at games than the drunken baffoons who sit near me and can seldom even tell who had the ball.

Change that to hard core fan then. As I was saying before, the yuppie's of the 80's and now this new fan that goes because they can, don't seem to care. My father always told me if you don't work hard for what you got you won't care about it as much then if you did

So then by definition the peeps who make good money don't work as hard and can't be avid, hard core fans because they don't appreciate it as much?

That's BS.

I'd say the peeps who drink so much in the parking lot that they can't remember the game are a much bigger problem.

The issues in the stadium right now stem from it being new and people want to get in there and see everything the new site has to offer...and that's particularly true of the club seats .If I dropped that kind of money I'd sure as hell want to check out the clubs. Over time tho everyone will have seen everything. Peeps who shouldn't have gotten tix to begin with will lose them or sell them. This was all to be expected.
I went to the Chiefs game on Oct. 5th. The stadium feels sterile and simplistic, but it's fine. The sun was beaming down on the visitor's side for most of the game. At halftime, people who would otherwise be sitting in their seats, flooded the outer concourse of the stadium making it impossible to walk around and explore. They weren't buying food, or going to the bathroom, or buying merchandise, they were just chillin' and I don't blame them. The sun was no joke!

There were also a fair amount of empty seats. Levi's stadium was somewhat of a challenge to get to, but it was certainly doable. So the reason for the empty seats must be because the prices for tickets are ridiculously high. They need to fix that! Think of the children!!!

I'm not in a hurry to go back, and I'm a die hard Niner fan!
