I mean look at how the FO and Harbs has meshed. I think everyone in the league totally respects Harbaugh and how he's turned around this franchise in 4 years. But what big name coach will consider coming here seeing how Harbaugh and the FO didn't get along. They may think what if he's in that same situation for the next several years.
Baalke/York might hire a coach that they get along with and not necessarily a coach thats going to win them SB's (whom they might clash with again).
Just a thought I guess because with the report of Harbs being offered a bigger contract with Michigan he may be as good as gone.
Because the front office is well respected also and is regarded as one of the best in the NFL. That came directly from Peter King. For all the BS about people complaining about Baalke around here, he's seen as a very good GM across the NFL, Marathe is seen as a very good executive, unless a coach is demanding full control of all football decisions, which isn't going to happen, I don't think they'd have a problem with the front office whatsoever. I'm sure they'll ask about the situation regarding Harbaugh but since he has a reputation as having a few screws loose anyways, I don't see it being an issue at all.
To me, this is still the premier head coaching job in the NFL if Harbaugh leaves. How many guys get to step onto a team that is already a Superbowl contender when healthy. If Tom Coughlin does get fired, its the 49ers and the Giants.....and then everyone else.
