Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
One way Marc Trestman stays employed by the #Bears this season? Win with a QB other than Jay Cutler. Now is his chance.

Just find a top ten OC lying around who won't leave in 2-3 years for a HC gig? That's all we need to do? Easy pickings! Why the hell were we looking for good OCs with HC potential who could provide stability to the offense well into the future? WE'RE SO STUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPID!!!!!!

I'd definitely be on board with that and start calling up teams and hoping one gives us permission to speak to their oc.. kubiak, hue jackson, hamilton, gase, etc. wrathman makes a good point though about them leaving for a hc job in a few years if they do well. almost need to find an offensive guru and make him hc long term. i guess could always do next man up at oc when that person leaves if we went with fangio. i mean if we are a good team though we shouldnt have problems finding a good oc but for continuity wise might be better off going next man up or finding someone of the same pedigree.

We can all agree that we want a HC with West Coast Offense ties, being that the 49ers via Walsh are the founding fathers of WCO. But I remember reading an article about The Big Tuna being Balkee's first choice. I sure hope that article was a bunch of BS!

He was pretty bad in Indy, Jim Mora Sr got s**tcanned because he refused to fire Fangio.
True, i just didn't think it constituted saying he wasn't considered a good DC before JH.

Well, look at it this way, if Harbaugh goes back to Michigan, that really simplifys the situation for Fangio I think.
"Michigan for college or the Bay Area for the NFL, Michigan for colleege or the Bay Area for the NFL......hmmm"

I think the more important question should be: Are we going to keep the "Who's got it better than us?" cheer?

....I hope we do

....I hope we do

Oh, true. For a second I thought we weren't the only sad sack team to blow a huge lead against that ever bigger sad sack team.

If I want a young up and coming coach I would go with Shanahan, or Gase, Manning give much of the credit for the offense to Adam Gase. Manning really Like Gase I really like the office that Kubiak runs and If it could be Harbaugh at Head coach and Kubiak as the OC that would be my first choice. I don't think that is an option any longer. I'm with Phoenix and if he interview well and passes the medical I would go with Kubiak. I would be happy with any of the three. I think the best fit for this team mite be Kubiak. I think he will be 57 next year so he could coach another 5 to 10 years no problem.

Plus Bellicheck wasn't all that great when he coached the Jets.
I don't know, for the 8 or 9 hours that he was the Jets coach, I thought he was pretty productive.
I didn't know he resigned that fast, lol
Didn't he stink it up with the Browns too? Except one Mon.night he beat the 49ers. I called in sick that day to get all the pre-game hype. What a wasted sick day

Lol....who's "we're"......
Dude just posted a top 3 defense with players off the scrap pile. No one in the entire league would have guessed that this years 49er defense would have played so gooed especially when Aldon Smith missed more than half the season.
You don't replace Fangio's proven success with a brand new coaching staff.
I don't care if we have a new OC every single year if it means the Defense can stay at a high level and we can manage to put together good STs.
We can't lose ground on the the defense that has been built over the past 4 years.

He did a good job with the Browns, they improved pretty much every season except for his last, I think he ended up pissing off Modell pretty badly so he got rid of him.
