If we said Jim... fire Solari, Roman at the least, preferably Mangini, Chryst, Morton, etc too and we will give you a long extension at the price you want he would probably say if they go I go. I'm not so sure Harbaugh would take that extension because he's too loyal and knowing how stubborn they are Roman and Solari arent the problem it's the players. Ideally Harbaugh stays, the D staff stays exactly the same and we get a new o staff minus rathman. Harbaugh is willing to bend on the oc and bring in a passing guy maybe not with the same philosophy as him and lets him handle the pass game and he takes care of the team and the run game. Problem is jim probably doesnt want to be here that or he doesnt want a new o staff.

I'm not sure it's the truth. I'm guessing it's more of the latter and even though this is Jim Harbaugh's vision for the offense, I do believe that he gives his assistants the space/leeway to do their job. In the same way that he allowed our receiver coach to convince the team in getting Ronald Johnson over Doug Baldwin, I believe his assistants have free reign to do what they feel they need to do. At least I'm hoping this is the case so there is some separation between Harbaugh and Roman. Right now, all I or any of us have is hope. I would love for Jim Harbaugh to stay and want him to stay, but only on the condition that they get rid of the offensive staff minus Rathman. Bring in a new OC. Hell, look at John Fox right now. His teams look nothing like what he was running in Carolina. It looks nothing like what happened when he had Tim Tebow. Some would say it's all Peyton Manning, but the coach still has to be on board with changing. If Harbaugh is willing to go out and get a new OC with a more modern concept of an NFL offense and he just stick to running the team, I guarantee you this team will get back attacking others with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind and I'd be happy to see him be among the highest paid coaches in the NFL.

I'm sure there are a dozen guys who would love to get their hands on the guys that we have. Of all of the names that we can bring in for someone that will strictly be a playcaller and not a head coach, I'm all in for Marty Morhinweg. Kap will get some real QB coaching. Hell, I'd expect all of our backups to look better as well (it seems like Philly was a QB factory for awhile). We will run the ball, we will pass the ball, and run more of a WCO. We also probably won't have to invest so much in our kickers seeing as how they are the only guys that can be relied on for points the last two years. No disrespect to Dawson, but I've never seen a team that wins as much as the 49ers so dependent on a kicker.

I think this would be best for the team going forward. I also would hate for those media pukes to look like they were right all along.

This. Marty Schottenheimer is another one, incredible sustained success, but always fell short because his offenses were lacking.

In the NFL, either you're getting better or you're getting worse, there really is no middle ground and this offense has been getting worse with a lot more talent than various teams that are currently outperforming it. There's just no excuse for that. If Harbaugh doesn't want to bring in an independent OC who will run the offense pretty much autonomously, then the front office has no choice but to let him go.

This statement sums it up. A lot has been said about our offensive talent being overrated. Maybe maybe not but what you cannot argue is that our offensive talent is better than what WE have had under Harbaugh yet the offense is regressing. Why?
I think we should start worrying about how the hell we are going to keep lord fangio and his staff after harbaugh is gone. If not for fangio, this team would be 2-12.

Harbaugh has to agree to fire Roman and bring in an experienced OC. If he does not agree, can his ass.

I'm sure the injuries and suspensions we had didn't have anything to do with it.......

It was a failed year from the start.

Andy Ried in recent history and he never won ANYTHING and the Eagles finally fired him

If Fangio resigns due to loyalty to Harbaugh, we will find a new defensive coordinator.

You really enjoyed the glory years of Nolan, Erickson, and Singletary. Harbaugh and Reid are miles better than those tools.

You think it's easy to win in this league? Harbaugh is a winner.
