What is the worst 49er loss of the modern era? | Page 6

What do you guys think? This feels like a playoff loss because it was so outrageous in context, that it feels like something important has ended. The last three playoff losses don't feel so momentous to me because the team has never really proved itself as a clear favorite or champion under harbs. They were just dispririting losses, but they weren't like the losses above where we were favorites.

1) Roger Craig Fumble Game - Niners would have 3 peat
2) SB vs Ravens (Thanks Roman)
3) 1987 playoff game vs Vikings. (Niners were just dominant during the regular season )
4) 2014 NFC title game against the Seahawks (f**k RIchard Sherman)
5) 2012 NFC title game against the Giants

The `91 Giants game still burns me AND

the `87 Vikings game does as well

IMO, we should have won the Super Bowl both those years as well.

1991 vs Giants. Shot at 3 peat ended, it was in the bag, Ended 49er career of greatest QB of all time. #2 Super Bowl loss, # 3 last year loss to Seattle......hate the hawks

What about 92 NFC title game?

As for the choices themselves? I would say a tie between 87 and 90. 87 you had Montana and Rice at their peak along with Young having possibly the greatest season as backup QB could ever have with 10 TD's and no INT's. 90 you basically returned the same team from 88 and 89 and just wonder what the heck happened.
