Why in the world did it ever come down to the last few seconds of the game against a backup of a backup of a backup QB on an injury depleted Rams team? The offense couldn't score more than one TD on a turnover with a short field?
Why all of a sudden do all the all pros on offense look like all *#@&?

This comes down to way more than just Kap throwing bullets out of reach to Crabtree.

I actually thought this myself as it happened...#23 sold out underneath on the Crabtree route, and I think CK saw this so he had to go more low & away with his throw to avoid deflection or even pick. But when 23 vacated the area right around the numbers, that gave a nice throwing lane to Boldin who had inside position on his man.

That said, I'm not going to get into the "bad read' stuff re: CK...if he makes just a slightly better throw by a matter of inches it's a TD, not to mention it can be argued it was a TD anyway.

If boldin would have ran an inside route but, he ran an out route. So the play design was to put one of our most effective receivers on the backside of a rollout that pretty much eliminated him as an option. Than put all threats on one side of the field. So the defense doesn't have to cover the long ball because they're on the 1 or whatever and they dont have to cover an entire half of the field. Boldin was covered by his guy plus crabs guy and crabs was covered by his guy and the safety. 3 players bracket every option the play had.

My mistake crabs guy was in no position to help with Boldin but, Anquan's defender was on his hip.

Well then, thanks for that insightful analysis. I didn't say Boldin ran an "inside route", I said he had inside position on the dude covering him, i.e. he was on the "inside" relative to where CK was....and this ain't college, the positioning Boldin had on his man is what's known in the NFL as "open". Again, that isn't being said as some dig at CK missing an open receiver because Crabtree was ope,n but CK was just off enough on the throw to not get the TD.
I think I'll just apply for the HC job next year... I mean I always win the Superbowl in madden and put up ridiculous numbers, so naturally I must be a better coach
