2- I read awhile back that the reason we don't call screen passes is because our offensive line isn't built for that. Serious question: How many other teams do this?!

3- Next week in N.O. is gut check time. We lose, I think our season is done, not only in the sense that we don't make the playoffs but also, even if we squeak in, we'll get run over by whoever we play. If we win, this team makes the playoffs via the wild card and we become the team no one wants to play. I'm leaning towards us beating little Breeze and co. and getting back on track.

4 - This defense is all-world - in the top 10 against the pass and the run. It's criminal that they're saddled with such an inconsistent offense.

5 - When Aldon gets back, I think JJ Watt and J. Clowney will have competition for the scariest pass rush duo in the NFL. Lynch is a Beast.

6 - I felt as bad after this loss as I did with the S.B. and when Kyle Williams fumbled that catch.

What's up with our slant routes. Why are we the only team that throws the ball before or just as our receiver is breaking on the slant? Most teams are a little more patient with this and allow the receiver a couple of steps after the cut so they gain more speed before throwing the ball. I think Kap rushes the slant route every time. Just be patient, freeze the LB's and let that slant hit near top speed before letting that ball rip. Other teams get 12 yards on a slant. We are lucky to get 5 or a completion at all.

In regards to Crabs, you're blaming him for f**king up that easy TD? That was on Kap. He had to comeback on that pass.

He was also wide open on the third down on the second to last drive. Should have been another big play. Crabs has had a rough season, but yesterday I can't fault him for too much.

Crabs has played like crap...but this! What an awful throw on what should have been a basic, easy throw/TD.
How good is Solari? I think he is the problem with the oline. He was the oline coach under Singletary. Why did we keep him again? 8 sacks against the Rams is worth a firing!!

It seems like Kap allows himself to get sacked a lot to put us outside of FG range. It happened twice yesterday. Dude MUST know the situation and understand he should not sit in that pocket and be ready to scramble quicker than other areas on the field or let that ball go for a strategical incompletion.

I seriously think we have a dumb QB.

Cam Newton went equally potato against the Seahawks last week. They were driving and he kept taking huge sacks for a loss instead of getting rid of the ball. Russell Wilson almost always throws the ball away if he can't escape the rush. Kaepernick rarely gets rid of the ball, he seems to always take sacks.

I miss Drevno on the 49ers. Glad he's with SC, but seriously, 49ers need him just as bad.

Season is done. Seriously, how many points do you thing NO will score? 13 or greater? If yes, than, that's it. Because I don't see the 49ers throwing up more than 9... Which is a success by Roman standards.
I fully expect to be the underdogs next week, but the Saints (like us) are a flawed team. There own record isn't anything to write home about. I think the 49ers surprise the national media who will no doubt be saying that the Saints run over us. Bottom line, I refuse to believe we will be as offensively inept next week as we were in the previous game. 49ers win...If I'm wrong, then yeah, we're pretty much done.

1988 - team was 6-5 and written off. Won 4 of last 5 and got in to the playoffs.

I could see us losing to NO then winning the next 4 against NY, Wash, Seattle (at home) and Oakland. We are competing against Seattle, Detroit, and Dallas for two wild card spots. Romo has a broken back. Seattle plays us twice and Arizona twice and looked pedestrian at home against the Raiders. We are still in this.

1) Kap: Same as most games. Not great. Not terrible. Disjointed performance. Great play on the Boldin TD. Not a ton to say as its difficult to say much in regards to him as he was under pressure all day long.

Two fumbles (three if you count the double fumble on the last play), getting sacked 8 times (as bad as the oline has been, he NEVER throws the ball away), missing receivers on easy passes, and other headscratchers...... I would say its easy to say a lot.

He got pressured a lot, but he's making horrible decisions, and is missing throws when he's not pressured.

I'm curious to see what happened on each and every sack. I want to know how much the following factors played on each individual sack:

- Calling plays long developing routes
- Poor blocking by Oline
- Kap hanging on to the ball too long
- Kap missed seeing open WRs (not throwing with anticipation)

You know.. I don't think the fan base is worried about the mathematics of getting in or out. We feel like we're done cause we keep getting kicked down, and each time it seems harder and harder to get back up. The offense really has issues. We have made it to 30 points once, and haven't even broke 20 three times.

He is not a smart QB and he is not improving...he is physically gifted, but other teams are well aware of his limitations.

Thanks for that. I'll use that as cliff notes for tomorrow.
Anyone still talking or even thinking about playoffs is in denial. This team is very, very bad and could even be worse had they not luckily pulled out sloppy wins against KC and PHI.

The offense is one of the worst in the league.

The wheel have come off. All the media hype about the coaching staff wearing out its welcome is abundantly true. No passion on the players' behalf, sloppy execution, poor gameplanning by coaches, etc. Nobody is happy and nobody wants to be here. Kaepernick has looked worse in every single season since 2012. He is a remedial qb.

8-8. Harbaugh and Roman gone by end of the year; Niners try to keep Fangio and, possibly, promote him to HC (which is not advisable considering the offense is the problem).
