We have plenty of talent, just no where near a consistent offense to win games. Next week at the saints might be a Broncos replay. They are playing better and we are playing worse. To come off a bye and play that pooŕly is unacceptable. Division game or not we should win that game. Its a little of everything, except the defense. Its the HC, OF, OL and kaep. 8 weeks in I have seen 0 improvement from the offense.

We will finish around 9-7, maybe 8-8. And we will have a new coaching staff next year.

I take exception to "clearly" we were the best. I'm not gonna panic too much here. Harbaugh is a damn good coach but reality is he may have peaked and we need fresh philosophy and ideas to reignite this team. This team is no longer the hunter. We seem to have completely lost the mentality and edge that we had the last couple years.

I have to agree with Jerry Rice, he said that he doesn't think this team can recover. He would've liked to see Kaep more under center with 3 step drops to alleviate the pass rush. I hope we get a new offensive coordinator next year...or even this year...John Harbaugh made it work.

Borland took the blame for today's loss haven't heard from the dip s**t qb who fumbled on the 1 yard line yet. We made a mistake losing Alex. I hope people can throw this comment back in my face one day but

frankly I'm depressed and ashamed kaepernick is our qb.

Well said. Wait he brought up race?

Not recently, i think it was the offseason where he brought up race, something about how he doesn't look like the stereotypical qb so he gets more criticism than he deserves. Um no is because he's a choke artist. If he was clutch we'd all love him.
I miss alex smith

Yeah well, good. Rice is a hater and always out for himself and to stay relevant. I feel very different about Rice the player and Rice the Media personality. Glad he's against us.

Alex plays for the Chiefs, you're free to root for them if you want.

Did you watch the game? It was a bad game for the offense, but if Alex was behind center he would've gotten sacked 10+ times.
You should be "depressed and ashamed" that our offensive line allowed 8 sacks from a team that had 6 total coming into this game.

We lost a game we should've won, but I still believe that we can bounce back.

so sad, so sad to see Baalke go and did nothing with all the freaking PICKS we had!!!!

Losing is a disease... ...as contagious as bubonic plague... ... attacking one... ... but infecting all.
We do not have a talent problem. But injuries and suspensions are killing us, the depth is not as good as we hoped in some cases. So, the season is on the brink.

With respect to the "window" - the key issue is whether you believe in the front office. So long as the front office brings in talent, the window will not close. If the front office whiffs on draft picks and squanders money on FA busts then the window closes because in today's NFL the truly successful teams are those that can lose talent year after year but still win games by: (a) identifying and keeping essential players (there are only 8-10 of these on any given roster); and (b) replacing non-essential players with equivalent or better talent.

Baalke has whiffed lately - Tank Carradine (not ready), Lattimore (not ready), entire 2012 draft is gone, failing to draft talent at key positions - WR, CB. This should have been year three of our 2012 draft class. 2nd round and 4th round picks from two years ago should be on the roster and, if not starting, then at least key contributors.

If the window has closed it is not because our best players are past their prime or because we lack the 8-10 essential players, or because the players have tuned out the coaching staff. It is because Baalke and the front office failed to infuse young, dependable talent to the team 2-3 years ago and that has come back to bite us this year.

Mr. Lombardi argues otherwise.

Even Jerry Rice says the window is closing.

Window might not be closed just yet. Can the niners pull off what the SF Giants did this year? Everyone had the them dead at mid season but they did just enough to get in the playoffs and won the championship. I hope the niners can do the the same
We've been one and done three years in a row now and the team is sitting at 6-5. Probably won't make the playoffs. Montana is too fragile and not the QB he once was and Young is definitely not the answer - he's a running QB. Walsh has clearly lost it. He looks depressed on the sidelines and the team is far too talented to be performing this badly. We just lost to the Raiders 9-6 for cryin' out loud. The team can't even score one TD on the Raiders. The run is over - no more Super Bowls for this team!
