I think the window is closed. The best chance was a couple years ago against Baltimore. After this season, know one knows how this team will look like. They'll still be young but who knows if there will still be veteran leadership. Who knows if Harbs is still even here.
Once the D starts to age and Gore is gone we will be in major trouble. This team has always been carried by the D and Gore.
This is Gore's last season, what makes people think he'll be back. Hyde and Lattimore are in going to take over. The D is already aging. Willis, Justin, Ray, Ahmad probably won't be here. Bowman is might not be himself going forward. Cully is playing his last year probably. This defense might be different next season, especially if Fangio is gone to.

And from what I've seen we don't have a replacement for him yet. But the fact remains: Roman is gonna have to go and JH will have to focus solely on being a HC, and not a play caller/play over-rider. If not, then our window is closed right now.

I don't see Baalke paying Gore though with what he's gonna probably ask for. If they do pay Gore, someone else on the team gets the boot. They are trying to get younger not stay older. Crabs is probably good as gone. They may trade Ahmad per the reports that they tried to trade him already. Lloyd is on a one year deal he probably won't be back, not with this coaching staff.

Taking the realist approach is not throwing in the towel. Bottom line is we cant lose another game, and Sea/AZ have to lose a lot. I dont see all 3 happening right now.

Agree. Its gonna take a miracle for the niners to get a wildcard. Detroit will have to lose 4-5 games. GB will have to have a meltdown. Carolina will need a meltdown. The seahawks will need to lose 4-5. The Giants can't get hot. Its gonna be hard.

Nobody is giving up even if they say they are right now. We just suffered a loss that wasn't supposed to happen. We're all pissed/annoyed/frustrated...you name it. If they somehow beat the Saints next week, then well its back to optimism. It certainly doesn't look good though right now looking at the schedule.

Baalke has given this coaching staff weapons, yet they refuse or cannot adjust to it, or at least cannot use then adequately.

Great, now lots of people will expect the Saints to win at home. I wouldn't doubt the 49ers going in there and shock their butts the way we were shocked.

The more time they have to develop a game plan, the worse we are off! Like the Superbowl...

This season is over. You all can sugar coat it and think the 49ers will suddenly change as a team and destroy everyone but its not happening. This team can't even bat a depleted injured rams!! C'MON. There is no way we gonna sweep the rest of the schedule.
