Nah really????

I wasn't born yesterday dude of course i knew they added more seats for yesterday's event but would they add those on a permanent basis i ask? Prob not most likely those new sections wont sell bcuz no one really cares to fill up that stadium being further from SF n being so damn pricey Niners fans wont show up u saw how empty that place looked at time though the season. Just wait till we start actually losing on a consistent basis.

The extra seats were on the damn field........Is this some sort of prank? You gotta be kidding me.

Imagine Kap rolling out trying to avoid fans sitting on the field lol

f**k Levi Stadium!

Let's get into the real world here. Everyone in the NFL knew that the Niners had to upgrade their stadium. It's not like they didn't try to work out a SF location for many years starting in the mid '90's. The choice was to either get a new stadium set up for corporate boxes and corporate sponsors or lose the team altogether to an entirely different city possibly in a different state. All they had to do was something that hadn't gotten done in over 40 years - get an NFL stadium built in California - and they accomplished that. And right off the bat, the NFL awards them a Super Bowl.

I saw a lot of football and baseball games at the Stick, but that stadium was never really built with football in mind. I'd rather have the Niners in the Bay Area at a first-class modern NFL stadium than have to think about whether or not I can still root for a team that's based in LA or San Antonio or who knows where else.

Should've done what the Packers did...just revamp the existing stadium.

I don't agree with Skip Bayless much (hardly at all actually), but he said something on First Take during the course of the season that I agree with completely. That is....that Candlestick was old, rickety, outdated but it had an aura about it that made it comparable to Lambeau, old Texas stadium, etc. The fog, soggy field, filthy feel added to the mystique...made the stick an unfavorable place to play for opposing teams.

Our new stadium is no better than Jerry world. Great for the casual fan looking to check out the stadium and surf the net, but not geared toward the diehard fan willing to weather the elements in support of the team.

Hence the empty seats in 80 degree weather.

Pathetic

Empty at halftime..and the stick did have an aura but to the home team fans...that last few years the weather has been so great that there was hardly any rain, fog or anything to make the field unfavorable...plus the opposing fans filled the place.

This season the real fans will show up

Opposing fans vs corporate dicks = same thing.

We've always had a mediocre fan base, there's no doubt about that. And now Levi's will not only be filled with corporate duds, but also with opposing fans. And the diehard guys will leave their seats at halftime to enjoy stadium festivities or just show up late to games bc of the 75 degree heat wave.

Horrible decision to move

Well SF is all to blame for that move

Well maybe Gavin Newsom shouldn't have kept trying to force the 49ers to build on top of radioactive sludge...there's no shortage of SF politicians and "city leaders" who kept stringing the 49ers along just like they did with the Giants for YEARS.

I might not be crazy with some of the recent decisions made by York but he gets all the credit in the world from me for finally giving SF the finger, KEEPING the team in the Bay Area, and building a great new stadium.

And you're just a wee bit overly nostalgic about Candlestick...it was never a great HFA and was a concrete dump. It would've been nice for the Niners to remain in SF, but it ain't York's fault that didn't happen.

RIP candlestick. It was a POS the last two decades since they did not dump money in the place. Levi Stadium will get the similar dump nostalgia feel in 2042 that some of you yearn for again.
ugh, was rewatching the saints vs 49ers playoff game. the nostalgia.

I was watching that too. And I kept thinking; When football like that . . . when games like that are played at Levi's stadium the emotional attachment of the fan base to the Stick will lessen. It's going to take some time.

Still get chills at the end of that Game
yea i was watching it as well, and i was at that game, just remembering the excitement,

the way people felt after that game, it's a feeling i've never felt when going to a game, it was our first playoff game in about 10 years, i had to be there, well worth the money

It was just the best experience, i will never forget that game, glad i got to be a part of history. and witnessing it Live.

i had only wished we coulda got one last superbowl while still playing there.

That game was so great. There were a lot of Saints fans there...but the moment VD caught that TD...the stick went nuts! It was so loud. All the Saints fans in our section were talking such s**t during the game. Right after the TD they all just vanished. LOL

I remember just looking around at everyone jumping around. I'l never forget that game.
I was lucky enough to be at the saints game AND the wild card game against the packers, the one owens caught the winning pass from Young.

The crowd at the saints game, multiply that by 2 and that was the reaction when owens caught that pass. OWENS! OWENS!! OWENS!!!
We were jumping up and down hugging everyone around us. Oh man what a beautiful day that was.
