The problem is that we kept the wrong WR's. Chad Hall was a quick, darting receiver that could get open. At least he could move the chains. And Lavelle Hawkins seemed to have much more big play ability than Williams or Moore. I think we should definitely try Baldwin and Harper at this point. They can't do any worse!!!
This!!! Lavelle Hawkins has good speed and a potential play maker ability. He did some stupid celebration but should not get cut. But judging the receiver personal for the last few drafts, we may not have anyone in the front office to evaluate receivers :-) If we don't have someone to stretch the field quick, we might be done ->Teams are prepared for us.

The fact that the rams looked just as bad as us today gives me my only hope for Thursday. With that said, I still think we will lose that game in St. Lous. Buckle up boys, unless things change very fast with this receiving corps then this is going to be a long season. I'm not banking my hope on merely "surviving" until we get Manningham and Crabtree back, I think it's unfair to expect much out of them. Manningham suffered a horrible knee injury, hasn't played or practiced in a long while, he may realistically never be the same player again. Some players just can't recover from bad knee injuries, happens all the time. It will take time for Crabtree to work himself back into competitive shape when or if he gets back this season. We're in trouble.

Manningham is not coming back after six games. Bank on that. I cant believe how fans are counting on him at all this year. Maybe we see him in December if we're lucky, but just like Dial and Carridine, the team is tight lipped about him and no news is not good news

He also had the best kicking game statistically in NFL history. The defense and running game was much better then as well. That defense caused more turnovers and takeaways then any other team in the league that year and the running game looked very good. Lets not forget that Gore had 5 straight 100 yard games at one point that season.
Lets also not forget, the coaching staff seemed much more innovative then with what they had. We took risks with several special teams fakes that season. We even saw players like Staley and Soapaga catching passes downfield.

they should seriously think about bringing back lavelle hawkins (if hes available) if they arent gonna trade for someone but they better do something. the fact that the niners are on paper, loaded with talent i dont think they will start selling off players, they need to make a trade or two to right the ship and get this thing going in the right direction. were only 3 games in but with no receivers at all and a bunch of other key injuries they wont get far, especially with the s**tty playcalling on offense. cut roman and let harbaugh take over offensive playcalling, make a trade, sign hawkins and our offense will bounce back i think. we cant sit here waiting to be good again based on a bunch of injured players. we have to take action now

Still wondering why they didn't take a flyer on Heyward-Bey in the offseason, someone with his speed to stretch defenses could have highly useful at a bargain price.

How about not playing #10 or #19. Marlon Moore is garbage.
Start Patton and Baldwin and Activate Harper. Lets see what these kids have. It can't be worse than Moore or Kyle "Fair Catch"
