What I would like to see is the 49ers sign Richard Seymour and Brandon Gibson. That would add depth at DE and WR and both should be fairly affordable, Seymour could even come on a short contract. But beyond that, I don't expect any major flashy free-agent signings or moves.

Seriously, if he were willing to sign a cap friendly deal for at least 4 years, I would love to see him here. He is better than anyone they could draft not named Dee Milliner. Draft picks are useful for selecting players that will help you win. Hence, using a 2nd round pick, maybe even a 3rd to get the best CB in the league would be a good way to use draft picks. That being said, I would ONLY do that if he agreed to a long-term deal. No one year rent-a-player deals. I don't want another Neon Deion.

Revis is coming off a major injury. Paying 16 million for that while having to cut good players we already have? I don't get it. This guy ain't Deion Sanders.

On top of that, throwing away draft picks? Wow. Thank God Baalke is in charge.

You guys still underestimate our front office huh....he can't hold out in a contract year, and he won't get 16 mill his year with us

Revis was injured in late September, IIRC. Therefore he should be ready to pass a physical and do some running. If there is any question as to his health, you walk. If he looks solid then you think hard about it.

The CB situation must be addressed on this team if a SB run is a serious goal next season. If you don't think you can solve that in the draft at #31, then you use that pick on Revis and use KC's pick for DL/NT or WR, which ever is the greater value at that time.

I am totally against this move. Unless Revis suddenly has a team first mentality and would be willing to accept a deal under 10 million, do I want any part of him. Great player, but not worth the headache. And this is not Deion Sanders 1994. Sanders played for what I believe was the veteran minimum or some ridiculously low one year deal for a chance to win a championship. Revis may have been a shutdown corner (it has to be proven he can still be in 2013), but he has never shown himself to be that the type of player that would take less money to win.

You know what, if he can pick 6 RW, and high step into the endzone while holding out the ball in front of Pete Caroll and Richard Sherman, like Deion did to Atlanta in '94, then I'm all for it.

How do you figure? If anything Milliner would cost more as he's expected to be a Top 10 pick, maybe even Top 5. Do you know how much it would cost to move up to there from the 49ers #31 pick?

I think if the 49ers stay pat, there will still be plenty of good CB prospects to choose from, guys like Jordan Poyer, Leon McFadden, Robert Alford, Darius Slay and more.

Sure draft picks... Look at it this way. Were a number 1 cb short of a superbowl win. Would you A. Trade a first for one year of revis. Or B trade a few more picks for a prospect cb that could be a number 1 for decades on a defense that needs one... I rather trade the extra picks even though he's top 10, money isn't going to be the same revis is going to want another 100 million dollar deal and this kid with the rookie cap rules wouldn't get it. And come on it's a bama player which means pro ready this is like getting julio jones making a good offense amazing. you're say you have the picks to get a top player to make the defense from great to amazing and you don't want him... We have a hugh amount of picks we need a number 1 cb on defense carlos is getting old, revis isn't that young either. this kid can match up well with big guys and has the speed and hips for the little ones too...Sure those guys are good, but none will be as good as him. We don't need that much help we can give away the next years first and this years and still not blink a eye Pick 31 this year and Pick 32 next year for a player that's top 10. No way we get that kind of talent at those picks combined...

You think it would cost a 2nd & 3rd? I feel like Ny will be desperate to make a move for some reason and just a 2nd will seal it
