Same, that was my initial reaction. After about a minute, I talked myself out of it. It was only one bad play. There were still 56 mins left in the game.

Yeah, I was wondering if Alex Smith would end up being inserted into the game as well - but that wouldn't even have been a consideration unless we got down by 21, and Alex Smith is not the best QB to try and erase a 21 point deficit.

I blamed Davis because he just looked at it as it unfolds. I threw my Davis jersey outside the window after shredding it.
If you want to see fan reaction, visit the gameday thread starting on page 150 and read right up to page 164.
It's there you will find more than one poster, but one in particular, calling on Harbaugh to bench CK7 and put Alex in.
I wonder how that poster feels about now?

Alex tended to crumble after plays like that. Kaep always tends to come back red hot. Shows the confidence this kid has over the guy riding the pine. The pick six was so early, I was not fretting at all. Seriously.

Only one? I would have thought there was a lot more "bench him" nonsense and "Harbaugh is an idiot" nonsense than that.

The split second after it happened I flashed back to my youth of watching the Packers own us in the playoffs. Then I decided to be vlass half full amd said thank god he got the inevitable young qb mistake out of the way. So impressed witb how he bounced back, amazing!!!

Was a little worried because the Packers offense can score enough points on their own. Still, wasn't panicking because the game just started. I told my friend we'll score a TD off a turnover to make up for it, and we did after the muffed punt.

That wasn't on Davis at all. Completely on Kaep.
Kaep needs to throw it in front of Davis, not behind him, right at the Packer defender.

My reaction was an immediate flashback to 1995/96 when sitting on my couch I said, "Do not give the ball to Adam Walker!" Then Young threw a swing pass to Walker, who had a cast on one arm, was drilled, fumbled and Newsome took it in for a TD.... Just like that, GB was up 7-0.... I had the same feeling. But like then, I thought the Niners would regroup and Kap would settle down... This time they did......

in the game day thread i recall saying that i was glad that happened early in the game. that was 2nd/3rd play of the game and it was the 1st and last one he was allowed to throw. boy learns quick
