Aaron Rodgers 30/44 303 2TDs 1int
Matthew Stafford 19/32 230 1TD 1int
Eli Manning 15/28 193 1TD 0int (3 INTs from our side did more damage then Eli - IMO)
Drew Brees 26/41 267 3TDs 2int
As far as comparing us to the Texans...I live in Houston and can tell you that not many were 'shocked' that the Pats hung one on them. Their D is missing key players to injury and has not been stellar for weeks. The Jags hung 43 on them for crying out loud!! The Texans today are a shadow of what they were in weeks 1-10. Even at their best, Aaron Rogers lit them up in Houston. Brady doing the same (in NE) when they were even weaker defensively should not have surprised anyone that pays attention to the game.
I feel like the weather will be the biggest determining factor in Sunday's game. Snow favors NE, but does not change what we do:
- Defense - Stop the run, pressure the QB, put a hurt on anyone catching a ball.
Offense - Run the ball, chew up the clock, big play or two if/when we need 'em.
THIS THIS THIS!!! BTW, I live in Houston also, and they tend to measure themselves against the 49ers.
The problem is that you haven't faced an offense like the patriots all season (imo the pats are in a category offensively by themselves). Each of those teams that was mentioned is not the same as NE's:
Giants: bunch of flukes we're talking about but whatever. They don't have as good an oline, TE or RBs as the patriots. Their receivers maybe a little better bu that's it.
Packers: same deal as the giants
Saints: same deal as the giants and packers
NE is a complete offense. Their only weakness occurs when there is a lack of execution.
As far as snow it favors the team with the better passing game. NE has only lost twice in the regular seasn at home since 2009.

Strictly from a Talent perspective, I think the 49ers are a more talented team...We can go position by position here...
O-Line: Pats are pretty good, but I think the Niners are even better. Niners may have the best personel in the league on the O-Line. They have broken down a bit in pass protection while Brady hasn't been sacked much at all, but I think alot of that is on Brady himself. He gets the ball out. Advantage: Niners.
TE: I love the Niner TEs, but I think I have to give this one to the Pats. Advantage: Pats
WR: I think the Niners are much better than advertised and I think Brady makes the Pats WRs look better than they are, but considering the HUGE difference in production, I'll go with the Pats. It's not as clear cut as some would thing tho. Advantage: Pats
RB: I'll get argument from Pats fans, but I think the 49ers HAD the best RB corps in the NFL. They have lost 2 of those guys now tho with Hunter gone for the season and Jacobs suspended, but I will still take Frank Gore and LaMichael James here. I KNOW I'll get argument, but I'd take Gore over just about anyone not named Adrian Peterson. Advantage: 49ers
D-Line: This one is pretty clear to me. I like Vince, but I'll take Justin Smith over anyone not named J.J. Watt. McDonald is WAY undervalued. Advantage: 49ers
LBs: Look, the Pats young group looks good....but lets get real here.Aldon Smith. Patrick WIllis. Navorro Bowman. Ahmad Brooks. Those guys may be the best of the next generation. NOBODY matches that group. Advantage: Niners
Secondary: Not close to me. Talib is a good addition for them, but the Niners have great players at Safety and they go 4 deep at corner. Advantage: Niners.
And finally....the big one.
QB: This one is the great equalizer. I love Kaep and I think he's the future of this team, but this isn't even anything resembling a contest. I think the Niners are CLEARLY a more talented team from top to bottom, but QB is soo much more important that any of the other positions. Advantage: Pats
I'm not going to make a prediction, but this game should be alot of fun. ;-)
I agree with all of that except Oline. The Pats have the best oline in the league. Brady hardly gets touched and it's been like that for years. Our pass protection isn't very good at all. We are good in the run game, but still have lots of work to do in the pass blocking department. Advantage Pats for sure on this one imo.
Also as for tight ends, we have the advantage here if Gronk isn't playing. However when Gronk is healthy the combo of Gronk and Hernandez is probably better than Davis and Walker. Walker drops way too many balls. Although I think Vernon is a way better tight end than any of those guys, he just doesn't have Tom Brady throwing to him and isn't in a pass oriented offense. Plus he gets doubled every game.

so pretty much you are saying that the giants, packers, and saints are a fluke offense? and NE has the most complete offense?? what is this based on? this complete offense couldnt beat the seahawks nor the cards, yea very complete if you ask me

Only the giants are a bunch of flukes, not the others.
If i recall hernandez was injured on the first or second play of the cardinals game and he didn't play against seattle. The offense you saw back in september is not the same as now. Just fyi the next closest team in points scored is bouston and they are about 100 points behind us.

I don't think anyone is saying the offense is BAD. No one would even argue with you that they are the best in the league....but you haven't faced a D like this one either. Even in those statlines above for Stafford, Rodgers and Brees they don't tell the whole story...there were alot of garbage yards and TDs in those performances.
This should be a tough game, but don't expect this to be a walk in the park. This ain't Houston. The 49ers have MULTIPLE blue-chip players at every level of their defense.
The thing that worries me? The 49ers do very little substituting. Their defensive starters play the whole game. When the Pats go hurry up and run a million plays, that D will tire.

Yes and if the rams can beat you (a team that we smoked by 30+ points) or giants then we can too.
