Ted Ginn Jr or Kyle Williams?

I can't believe it but I'm going with Williams. I'll admit I'm one of the one's that hated KW after the NFCCG but he has proven himself to me. Maybe more importantly, at least in my view, sitting Ginn Jr would open up a spot for either AJ Jenkins or LMJ. I'd love to add LMJ and just see what his speed could do for us on the field for a few plays per game. We have the speed at WR with Manningham, Williams and with Davis at TE.

Ginn looks timid on returns, he's going for the sidelines too early and I just don't think he's better than Williams as a return man or a receiver. I don't want to cut him, he could be useful if we have injuries at either spot this year or if KW starts to mess things up. But for now, it could be a way to try even another wrinkle in our offense with one of our 2 first round picks.

What a game! 621 yards!?!?! Are you kidding me? I love watching this offense grow and take off, become explosive and prove people wrong. I'm at the point that I expect the D to be dominate, but the offense playing like that was a real treat. Even my wife who is an Eagles fan chimed in and said man nobody can stop the 49ers if they play even close to that on offense. What a terrific feeling!
Ginn needs to turn it on or risk getting deactivated like you said.
With Ginn probably being gone at the end of the year I wouldn't hate the idea of having KW take over. It's games like today that getting the young guys in would be very easy. Celek got a pass today for gods sake....did Ginn even line up at WR for 1 snap?

I think Celek should be deactivated for Jacobs also, especially with Dobbs healthy, he can be our #3 TE on gameday

Kyle Williams is a top 20 talent on this team.

Good question... he's been injured so much he might be getting phased out. Not a good sign for him when he is healthy and Kyle is out there returning. I don't think he will be back next year because he wants to be more of a WR and he won't get that chance here. He would have to really pick it up in the return game for us to offer him a contract. Even then I'm not sure he accepts one just to be a RS. Side note: I think Moss could be gone as well. We'll see how the season goes but I think he wants to be more involved. If we have so many weapons we can't get Moss involved that doesn't speak well for Ginn. Maybe a few reverses here and there but Manningham probably beat him out on that too. If it's Crabtree, Manningham and Jenkins I hope we draft a big tall physical WR to go with that quick group.

Ginn, if only for ST plays like today when the ball bounced off a niners helmet after he yelled for his blockers to clear out.

Ptsd, paranoia call it what you will

Although the kid is a Junior, small, and not a great WR.......go look at (return highlights) of Ace Sanders out of South Carolina....dude is nasty

Holy crap is he quick and shifty... don't see us drafting a guy just to be a RS though. Looks like a team could use him in a Percy Harvin/Randall Cobb in the backfield shift role. A guy you have to get the ball into his hands and let him work in the open field.

And back to Ginn... if we keep him next year as a RS only he has to be active and that means he is taking someone's spot. Without him AJ probably is seeing the field in these games.

Ginn as a return specialist and Williams at receiver.

If both Ginn and Moss go we could be looking at 2 WR's in the draft. I want a big guy....been screaming for one for years but having another guy that offers return ability will be key. Right now I dont see LMJ in that role until he proves otherwise. But it could be that Sanders doesn't have the chances at SC to showcase skills....or he may not be a good WR? But being the 5th/6th WR...he cant be worse then Ginn getting 0 snaps on offense.

He may not declare this year so its all speculation but if he does, keep an eye out for him. Reports are he runs in the 4.43 range....but he can stop and go in a flash.

I have to say Ginn because KW still doesnt have 100% sure hands returning balls, and he makes a lot of rookie type mistakes. diving for kicks, calling fair catches when nobody is even close to him, letting balls bounce too far from the endzone, etc...

Once KW can get a grasp on those things, only then do i want him as my full time return man.

Agree for kick offs, Wiliams will keep doing punts, coachs want him to adjust to it and get his ego up now before the playoffs, also think ginn is gone next season williams takes over full special teams return man.

That would leave 4 WRs so you are right we could draft 2 guys if we go with 6 again. I kind of hope Ricardo Lockette doesn't signed to a 53 man roster because I'd like to see him compete for a spot as #5 or 6. I was a fan of his coming out.

Edit, Matt49er, nice going. We get a break from Alex vs Colin for a week and now it will be Williams vs Ginn. J/K
